Hello.

As you know from lastest screens - REBIRTH is now based on OpenXRay 1.6... it's still x64 :P

Nu there will be ~60% of features from SHOC version of Rebirth - basicly graphics, gameplay. Later i will think about maps - i got prepared SDK kit for CoP, so working on maps/textures/models will be faster, and of course easier. Even particles are better - i got permissions to use EFT WP particles from author.

I've choose SWTC as base for new weather. It's pretty balanced.
I ported some pixel shaders from ShoC and tweaked it to get best visuals - effect was stunning for me.
Still i need to get IPS monitor to make precise graphics tweaks.
I just want to keep graphics natural, with ShoC atmosphere, but more modern.


Gameplay.
I've added OWR 3.0 as base weapon pack, some models needs to be replaced - but thats not a problem now :P
While working on ShoC Rebirth i got maaany problems with porting models. Starting from animation bugs, ending with unsmoothed models. I lost about 20 ported weapons because of this.
Imagine porting 20 weapons from CoP to ShoC + then replacing hands model with proper (exo + base outfit for changeable hands feature).
Now i can even add Adidas tracksuit, without porting all weapons onto new hands model.

Let's talk more about gameplay, less about ShoC problems.
Since i've added OWR, i tweaked damage balance, and of course ballistics (ported from ShoC version). Now weapon kills like it should, just heavy armors/exos are harder to be penetrated with bullets. "Eatable" items were rebalanced as well. But "thats how stalker SHOULD works". I'm thinking about crafting feature - still not sure if i should implement it. Lemme know in comments.
I want also to implement scopes system in engine - it will be better than just "Eatable item with scope name, which can replace your weapon with other weapon with scope". You know what i mean - Shoker scripts...
I want to keep mod modern, with good quality features.

Switching to CoP made me loose almost all interest. You have to add way more to make CoP even remotely as fun as SoC or even CS.

Nuu, you know. I don't want to be limited by SHOC.

I don't see problem in adding revamped ShoC maps, or even maybe questline.
With CoP engine i can do things faster (you don't want to know anything about ShoC SDK and working with models there).

I still want to keep shoc atmosphere, and of course - it it will possible - storyline and maps. It's great chance to learn working with maps, and quests.

nice thats good you choose cop to be the base of your mod i really wanted to see new real scopes for the weapons and not that ugly vanilla ones

i wanted to ask there is a mod (not finished) called gunslinger for COP where the upgrades of the guns are changing the model and there is a lot of choises of attachments like grips stocks barrels lasers and a lot more i wanted to ask can you make something simmilar also can you make an hardcore addon for your mod where the guns one shot to kill even the pistolls?

Yeah, i know about Gunslinger. I cannot add these things since.... every single model have bones limit. IDK how they're able to mount so many addons for weapons. I will think about it in future.

Hmm, i wanted to keep balanced damage system, but i can think about small addons.

Well planned buddy! Just don't rush and have patience on what you're working on. Things are gonna come along. :D Also, about crafting system, that sounds quite interesting, so go ahead, but please, make sure to make it realistic with the materials. Not "Pile of dirt + aluminium can = Space shuttle" :D

Thanks. I lost my patience after many crashes, errors related to engine. Now i have only two major crashes to fix, and i can continue my work. Crafting system will be useful, maybe for weapons too... we will see :P
