RCOM or 'Realistic' 'Combat' 'Overhaul' 'Mod' is a mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat that aims to bring in a greater emphasis on realism. After years of no development, I have returned to release a new version of RCOM as an addom to "Call of Chernobyl"

So, first one is the ubiquitous knives that seem to use 9mm ammo. You can find them on everyone you kill and repair them for free, which is a valuable source of income but does not make sense.

The second goes like this: I was between 100 and 50m from the Skadovsk. Saw a couple stalkers battling with bandits and win, so when they were about to go I decided to kill them and loot them. Upon engaging them the Skadovsk broadcasted the message that it "was being attacked" and they had to go into lockdown. I waited maybe 5 min around it and they didn't open, so I saved and closed the game. Upon reloading the save the message that they were going to open the doors went in loop, but when I tried to get in the doors were still closed, so after a bit I decided to reload an earlier save. Don't know whether it's a bug from vanilla or it has something to do with the extended distance online a-life.

The knife thing is hilarious. Wowzers. Its an easy fix though.

The loop bug has to do with an error when I change the game to allow weapons on base. It'll be fixed for the next version.

Hey man me again, I realized an issue when playing through the mission where you have to protect the STALKERs who take measurements for the scientists. Sometimes when you say lets go to the Plavni Anomaly there will be a group of hostiles camped out there (I.E. Zombiefied STALKERS or Bandits) That will right away engage the STALKERs you are attempting to protect usually killing them or you. After this happens the STALKERs, if they survived, start attacking the zombified at the Cement factory. Sometimes after the STALKERs win both battles they will just walk away and refuse to finish the misson while all the boars and fleshes still continue to spawn and attack them. Two other things also have got my attention that are not bugs persay but minor annoyances.

First off when you upgrade to a high contrast scope it changes the entire screen yellow rather than just the sight.

The other is Degtyarev never wears a helmt which is weird when you have one equiped or are wearing an exo or SEVA suit.

Thanks for letting me know about the bugged quest. I'll make specific profiles for those particular quest NPC's so that they won't drift away like that. Unfortunately less stupid AI in RCOM also means that quests can get derailed, since some of the quests were written knowing the vanilla AI were blind beyond 30 meters, literally!

The high contrast scope can't be put just in the lens due to engine limitations. Its the same reason that the whole screen zooms in as well, instead of just the scope. Wish I could change that but I can't. :(

I'm aware that Major D. never equips a helmet visually, but never worried about it since there is no 3rd person in vanilla CoP or in RCOM. I did plan on adding 3rd person soon, and replacing the meshes of Degtyarev with helmet ones isn't too much work either.

No problem mate, it is also an issue in that quest line and other such as uncle Yar's that an emission will occur and completely screw the entire quest. Sometimes the guys run for cover only to be killed in the process, sometimes they get to cover and forget what they where doing before and even on a few occasions they sit there and look up at the sky leaving themselves to die.

Sucks about the scope but o well

and yea good to hear about the mesh the helmet thing isnt that big of an issue it's just odd. Wonder why they decided to leave it like that.....

I will continue to keep my eyes open for any small bugs thanks for the respones and keep up the great work man.
