Radium is a complete overhaul of the vanilla game, with new story elements, high quality weapons, new anomalies, new gameplay elements, new everything.

Report RSS Quick survey

A quick Surveymonkey survey I'd like people to fill out.

Posted by on

So, I have some questions for those that are still interested in Radium.

I would like it if you would all please out the following survey. It's very short.

Surveymonkey.com

Update: Poll results

It only lets me see 100 results, so no need to vote further.

"Would you be interested in a Radium early-release model or would you rather wait until finished?"

66% of you want us to wait until finished, so that's what we'll do.

"Does your computer support and run DX11?"

~86% said yes. This is good, as certain things aren't going to make it into the first release (they'll be available in an update). One of the things missing will be DX9 support, it will be added later, initially it will be DX11 only.

"Are you on a 64-bit OS?"

99% said yes. Good, as this mod is going to be released as 64-bit, BUT, we will include 32-bit versions of the bins too. The problem with not being on x64 will be that we're going to be using some high-resolution textures, and some other intensive features which will definitely need x64 to properly work.

"Which of the following features interests you the most?"

50% story, 59% sound, 47% freeplay, 73% weapons, 47% graphics.
Interesting results for sure, but I don't know if this is to go by. First of all, yes, we will have a big arsenal, but you can already grab a whole ton of the weapons we use from other mods such as STCOP, so if weapons are all you care about you'll be dissapointed.

"Rate your patience until Radium comes out"

45% said wait till finished (which we will), 38% neutral, 13% are a little impatient, and 4% are spoiled turds.

As for the results of the last question, I'll get to that in a future news post.

Is it possible to port COP vanilla quests to Radium (and it's new quests), and then port Radium to Call of Chernobyl? I really like the COP storyline and the areas. The best mod for me currently is SGM 2.1 . It brilliantly expands the vanilla storyline, expands weaponry, armory, achievements, etc. Is it possible to add vanilla quests to Call of Chernobyl, along side radium quests and radium stuff?

About early-release vs when-it's-done:
- I'm okay with both options. As a programmer, i understand that there might be bugs, and willing to wait, but, as a player, obviusly, i would like to play in early-stage of game, in order to finaly taste sound design and weapons, weapons, weapons! :)

Gimme weapons of course.
And im alsow ok with an early release. It was thanks to CoC early release that I got hocked to it. Bugs are understandable, ane they will ne easier to spot with more people playing and exploring the mod.
Thats just my opinion. Whatever decision you guys take is fine with me.

Would be cool if you released the weapons as a standalone addon for CoP. I mean, wasn't Radium meant to be the Ultimate Weapon Renewal at the beginning?

Anyways, keep up the good work, love u bby

Probably wrong place to ask this, but the 64-bit support for radium, will it come to CoC if the mod releases there? Or does it already have 64-bit support?

Other than that I want you guys to take your time. I am good at being patient.

The Call of Chernobyl team have always been very gracious in sharing their tech, and I gather we have no problem doing the same. So I imagine Call of Chernobyl will also be getting the 64 bit support when it arrives :)

Did it, and tbh... I'd rather wait until it's fully polished and ready to go than have it released early. :)
