Quake II Evolved is a 32bit, high detail Quake 2 .exe modification. Basically, that means that we are trying to take Quake 2 and improve it graphically in every way we can. This can mean anything from improving the HUD, to even reworking the models. At this stage, nothing is ruled out, unless its totally out there. Here's some of the new features added to Quake II Evolved already: - Brand new Mouse driven UI menu system, complete with new art. - Brand new HUD with new icons/numbers. - Quake III Arena style weapon selection bar. - Quake III Arena style shader system (With complete script function). - 32bit .tga/.jpeg support for textures, skins and art. - Support for textures with Alpha Channels. - Version 1 of our reworked particle system. - Various new in-game effects. - New .pk2 file loading system. + Loads more, just my arms hurting now :(

Description

Quake II Evolved was started late 2002 by Nicolas Flekenstein and Gavin Stevens as a quick mod that would improve a few areas of Quake II. Soon after that we decided to add a new menu and from then on the features just kept rolling in. Quake II Evolved is now a 32bit source modification for Quake II that makes full use of TGA and JPEG textures. It also supports pk2 compressed archives for files and even Quake III Arena style shaders for textures and skins. We have come a long way since September 2002, and we hope to go a lot further.
