In order to make Pulse professionally-looking and enjoyable for the consumer, not only do the game's maps and code have to be worked on, but the miscellaneous aspects have to be, as well. What are those miscellaneous aspects? Well, things like a custom menu screen and custom game icons are what I mean. So, we've been working on those "miscellaneous aspects" lately and it is looking pretty good. First off, you know how when you put games on your Steam "My Games" list, if they have an icon, it shows up to the left of the game's name? Well, we found out how to make a custom icon for Pulse on the Steam "My Games" list and it looks pretty cool. Customizing for a mod always makes it look more professional and seems like more thought and work was put into it. The icon is as big as the others and shows a pulse orb logo with a transparent background. Next, we made a custom menu screen and boy does it look nice! Here it is:
As you can see, we've been really working on that stuff. Also, we are using some of the sourcecode from the Spirit of Half-Life, which is kindly made available to the public for free. That means that we can more effectively add new monsters and weapons and make the gamer's experience a great one.
So, that's all for today. Thanks again for watching Pulse.
