Pulse is a MOD for Half-Life 1. Pulse takes place in Black Mesa after the incident. You are famous scientist Gordon Freeman. In the beginning of Pulse, you are in Surface Lab A Security Complex, a lab and security station on the absolute surface of the Black Mesa Research Facility. You are working with your scientist pals when one scientist working with a hazardous radiation meter detects high radiation amounts coming from all over. They radio into the Administrator's office, the office of Dr. Wallace Breen. Instead of Breen answering, they pick up a remote conversation between Breen and an unknown voice. "It's done," Breen said. "The xenian crystal triggered a dementional rift between Earth and the boarderworld Xen. Now let's get to the surface!" "I'm sure my employers will be pleased," says the unknown voice, and then silence fills the room followed by an explosion. The other scientists are amazed that the Administrator of Black Mesa...

Alright, this is a major update for the Half-Life Mod Pulse. First off, as I'm sure most of you have noticed, the architecture of the maps for Pulse in the early going was not as original and did not present a Black Mesa feel. That is because in the beginning of Pulse, you are going through very old areas of Black Meas that weren't very thoughtfully built at that time. But, as the Mod goes on, you start to find your way into more modern areas of Black Mesa with more original and modern architecture. As far as we are in development for Pulse, the player is in a very architectural part of Black Mesa.

Second, we've been experimenting with a new weapon made by the Angel-Gits Community: the AK-47. We modded Gordon's HEV Suit hands and arms onto the weapon and it's looking pretty good. It will either be in a class of its own or it will take the place of the default machine gun. We have decided that the machine gun that is default for Half-Life 1 will not be included in Pulse. Instead, it will be replaced with either the M4A1 or the AK-47. The M4A1 and the AK-47 will both be in Pulse no matter which replaces the default machine gun, though. :D Below are some images of this new AK-47.

As you can see, we're making some progress. Also, we are now working on our 15th map for Pulse! We are really gaining ground. We are adding more scientists and security guards that say sentences and preform certain functions to aid the played in his quest. We have also had some volunteers help record new voices for scientists and security guards to say in the Mod. We're trying to customize Pulse to fit certain events in it as best we can. Also, the reason why you don't see many scientists and security guards earlier in Pulse is because not may survivors are around where the player first sets out for his mission. Now, at the state of development we are currently in, the player is starting to see more and more survivors of the Resonance Cascade in Black Mesa.

We want to remind everybody that Pulse does in fact have two gameplay demos available taken from early development of certain areas of the Mod. Here are links to the first two demos that are out.
Download Pulse Demo #1 - .zip format
Download Pulse Demo #2 - .zip format

BE SURE TO READ ALL THE READMES IN THE .ZIP FOLDERS TO PROPERLY INSTALL THESE DEMOS. SUPPORT CAN BE OBTAINED BY E-MAILING ME AT legohalflife2man@yahoo.com. We are also proud to report that we will be including some music in our Mod. It will be mostly from Half-Life 2 and maybe some external songs from bands and other popular games. We will be giving credit to those groups at the end of Pulse, as well as all the others that have helped in Pulse's development. Also, we are creating a gameplay teaser for Pulse and it should be up for download on Moddb.com within the next few weeks. It will show short gameplay moments of what's done so far in Pulse and will include a song to help make the video enjoyable to watch. Keep a lookout for that download! Pulse's Mod profile is at Moddb.com and you can check there for exclusive updates from the main staff (mostly me) and for downloads and images. Also, please be sure to comment us! We want to know how we're doing. Also, please see our Image Gallery! Thanks for reading!

Sorry about the low-resolution images, guys. The reason there all low-res is because I saved them all as low-quality .jpegs which makes it look fuzzy and crappy. Sorry. I'll save them as .pngs from now on.

Thanks for your support and look forward to more announcements in the future.
