“Proving Grounds” is a first-person paintball skirmish simulator developed by “Iron Studios”. The frantic action takes place in an old industrial warehouse, refitted with a makeshift skirmish obstacle course. The object here is to be the last man standing. The focus of the game is art and realism. Dimmed lights, stone walls, shipping containers and sand bags are some of the elements that litter this carefully crafted world. The action is fast frantic and really captures the essence of its real world counterpart.
One of the requirements of us presenting at AVCon is that we are required to send in a 30 sec gameplay video, so i thought i would post it! A few notes:
*Yeah we still have bots and lasers running around, the character has been weighted and is now being put into the engine. Due to time and skill constraints we are also aiming for a weapon replacement but it may not be achievable for our deadline.
*The lighting hasn't been done at all, neither has the vertex blending. The end product will look vastly different in terms of atmosphere. THis is just to give a sense of the space and gameplay.
