Welcome to Project Reality: Battlefield 2 (aka PR:BF2), a modification for the retail Battlefield 2 multi-player PC game. Project Reality's aim is to create a more realistic combat environment than standard Battlefield 2, and place a greater emphasis on teamwork and cooperation. Most of the aspects of Battlefield 2 that have the capacity to be modified have been tweaked, or completely overhauled, to reflect their real life counterparts, for increased realism. Ballistics have for example also been audited to reflect those of real weapons, including characteristics such as damage, deviation and bullet drop depending on a weapon systems calibre. Since EA and DICE no longer support Battlefield 2 and is no longer being played online, the Project Reality team made PR:BF2 a standalone game. No longer is a installation of Battlefield 2 required and we have implemented our own online account system for online play.

Report RSS Project Reality - v1.6.5.0 Released

Check out our first big release of 2021: PR:BF2 v1.6.5! Including widescreen support for ingame HUD, updated ingame menus, ironsight focus and a few secrets to find yourselves 😉

Posted by on

As stated in our end of the decade review we posted late last year, we are far from done with PR:BF2 development and today we want to show some of our work in the first big release of 2021. We hope you like it.

In our continued effort to modernize the old Battlefield 2 platform, this release sees some incredible improvements to the ingame menus and HUDs. Not only did we overhaul the style of in game menus, but also changed the HUD to properly support widescreen resolution and not stretch across entire screen. These advances for widescreen support have been achieved by Ekiso of the Forgotten Hope 2 development team who kindly shared them with us. Furthermore, we added a subtle optional focus effect to our ironsight weapons. This is something the PR Team has wanted to implement since forever but we now finally found a technical way to actually implement it in a proper way.

Lastly, there are some other things this release we would like you to find out for yourselves and we won't mention here. All we can say is that we have been striving for the highest possible standards of realism and scientific accuracy.

We hope you will enjoy this release. Let us know what you think and give us your feedback. And if you want to help us test any changes and new content for future releases, sign up as a tester today.

This update can now be downloaded through the PR Launcher. Enjoy!

**looks at profile picture** PUT SOME ******* PANTS ON

Also April Fools day has a rich, deep history, and did not start out as a holiday to mock people. The French called it April Fish Day. The 'Fish' symbol goes back to ancient Sumeria, where they interchanged the symbol of a fish or a star to represent Anu, aka Anunnaki, who is Sumerian god king. The Sumerians also used the star as a pictograph for the heavenly sky because Anu was the god of the heavens hence the interchangeable symbol. Enki, one of Anu's sons, was Lord of fresh waters and Lord of the Earth. He was often depicted wearing a fish headdress or covering. Fish symbol was used more for Enki than it was Anu, but both were interchangeable to the people who worshiped them, many people mistaking Enki for his father and vice versa.

tl;dr Aquaman's backstory is badass. THE MORE YOU KNOW!

You fix the issue where every time your guy jumps he does the running animation? It's weird, I'll be walking but when I jump it's like my guy starts jogging in mid-air. Also can we finally get toggle to crouch, and toggle to sprint? Only having aim down sights toggle is throwing me off, I'm used to all those actions being toggle.

Character movement in this game is ******* floaty as hell. That was the first thing I noticed when trying this mod out. Anyway to fix that? Or is that just how character movement works in the base game? I never played Battlefield 2 extensively, but I used to play Battlefield 1942 a lot back in the day, and I don't remember character movement being so floaty. Here it feels like my guy is not even walking, he's gliding.

ok Movement is better. It feels weird but when you see the third person animations it makes sense. I'm used to faster movement, not used to on foot acceleration. It's cool though I like it now.

Only problem is you guys don't have any servers. There's only one populated server with good ping but their moderators are a separate entity from you guys and complete SJW retards lol. You gotta moderate your OWN servers and not be such snowflakes like the HOG guys. Ah well. Still a pretty cool game after figuring **** out, managed to have some fun.

The load times are REALLY long though.
