Project 8 is a hardcore modification for Half-Life 1 where you play as a security guard whose goal is to get to the communications department and set off an alien intrusion alarm.

This is a fairly decent Mod, especially for the masochists out there who enjoy very hard Mods. Although I’d say that sometimes the balance between the element of unfair-fun and just-plain-annoying was off kilter (especially that really dark maze where you press a button and then escape).
The key thing for this Mod is playing conservatively and sometimes even just running past enemies. I was playing VERY conservatively so I still had a decent amount of ammo left, I think I only shot like 30 bullets in the entire Mod, so I think I did well. I also liked the strategy involved in the Mod with its fairly creative puzzles and how you have to replay some parts to really get a full picture of how to beat ‘em.
The level design mostly reminds me of the Mod called Assault on Roswell in its high difficulty and also the bad visual quality of the Maps. If you liked that Mod, you might like this.
