Uhm, cheers
I am the sound and graphics designer of this mod.
We actually need any help, because the map designer sold his steam account and lost his SDK.
So, if you wanna help us with some map designing, etc... we would really apreciate your interest with helping us.
Thanks Lobster :)

this mod, it is more or less, bad. the quality is very bad.
now, this doesn't mean give up the mod. here's what I suggest. try to extract one of the official maps.
not to copy. but to examine the structure of triggers, buttons, and world geometry.
also, portal is minimalistic.

try to design like so: metal is expensive. only use it when absolutely necessary.

try to make a very minimalistic chamber. get the design and gameplay right first. then focus on lighting and decoration later. while lighting is important, it is worthless with no chamber to light.

Doh, i knew it i ******* knew it! After Portal 2 was officially announced i knew the same would happen after the Realse of Portal 1: Lots of ******** Low quality kid made Portal mod's will be started and never be finished. TBH i was one of those kiddys in back in 2008 when i had the idea for my mod and yes it looked like **** but look where i am now. So im not saying : "give your mod up it sucks anyway" BUT there a couple of things you may should know:

1. The worst thing you can do ever is to add no lights in your map it looks plain and horrilbe. Here you can find a good tutorial: Myaperturelabs.com

2. Do you ever heard about "Texture Shift" or "Justyfiy"?

3. DON'T use hl2 stuff like Shotgun, Crowbar, Headcrabs or Zombies!

4. BEFORE you start trying to develop a full mod you should get more skill in Hammer. Interlopers.net

5. If you dont have skill in Hammer and your maps look ******* ugly DONT show it to the puplic!

Dont take this as insult im just trying to help you.

calm down a bit. nothing warrants swearing and insulting remarks. just because you got it as a noob doesn't mean you should dish it out when you're better.

also, a small side thing. you used grenades XP

The secret to making a mod is to make it. Don't bother with adding it to ModDB until you're a month or so from release. Most mods just seem to care about publicity and achieve nothing content wise.

The real secret is not caring about dumb comments that people make even deleting them may help. if its not an important comment it should not have been posted in the first place. if the issue is fixed comments involving that issue should not be there anymore if the media is released and or news announcing that issue has been fixed, and most of all not letting people that are insulting you and or your mod get to you. A.M.M.D. is just saying the same thing to every new mod and trolling against them really. He is a prime example of people who you do not want to get to you. If you want to use hl2 materials you CAN. he can not dictate what goes into your mod and if in fact it is a good mod he can whine and cry all he wants but if it is a good mod no one will care about his opinion. He said the same bull to me and I been mapping for 5-6 years (5 and a half years) while he has openly admitted to mapping for 2 years. and from your pictures I see you have used alignments. Also unlike him I only used 2 tutorials both of them are way out there and will not be used probably ever (fully functional custom thirdperson and the other one did not even work custom npc)
only needed those 2 the rest I already knew for the most part when I tryed reading alot of them. (most where done wrong alot of errors caused by alot of them and I knew the correct way which was funny.)

Finally noticed this..."reply". Next time try paragraphing and using proper grammar, I nearly gave up reading it half-way through.

"Also unlike him I only used 2 tutorials both of them are way out there and will not be used probably ever (fully functional custom thirdperson..." - If you did the thirdperson camera in code and the player model fades when the camera gets too close then I am afraid you are benefitting from the sweat of my brow, so to speak. Do not bite the hand that feeds.

There is potential in everyone to make a mod and naturally EVERYONE goes through a few mod ideas that they grow bored of after a month or two. If people held off posting their mods until they had made some serious progress. This will keep people focusing on the content and quality of the mod rather than the hype and publicity surrounding it. It'd also decrease the number of mods on moddb that are dead and will never get finished while increasing the overall quality of mods. It'd also increase the chance of a mod ever being released greatly, too.

My suggestions make perfect sense and will help improve the modding scene as a whole; better mods, more mods released and less done-in-a-weekend mods that lack any dedication.

Almost forgot, this couldn't be a flame war without any obscenities so: **** you.
