Ever since the release of Portal 2, I've seen many individuals express the desire to create coop mods for Portal 2, which some falsely believe is impossible and / or broken. That's why today, I'm releasing a Portal 2 Coop mod template for use by the general public.

Bugs:
- If an individual is playing Portal 2, they can join your game, but will most likely crash due to missing resources. Make sure both players launch and connect from the mod.
- Upon the first launch of the template, you'll be presented by a loading bar. Wait for this to complete until it turns orange, at which point you should Alt + Tab out of the mod, close it, and reboot it. You should now be presented with the menu. This is due to me having to delete the workshop folder from the maps to cut down file size. The game then detects this, and automatically imports all community maps for Portal 2. The more maps you're subscribed to, the longer the first launch takes to download. Unfortunately, I don't know how to disable this, but it's a slight inconvenience, nothing too big.
Note:
The template is based upon the work of TopHattWaffle's Wibi Data, and the level selection panels, as well as most of the code behind them is by Chicken Mobile. I've used the general ideas from Wibi Data, as well as the inclusion of the level selection addon to make a modifiable, user friendly, and most importantly, working, template for Portal 2 Coop Mods.
I've had this setup for years now, but seeing as the first mod which I initially made this for is dead, and the 2nd one which I was reusing it for is postponed indefinitely, I figured I'd release this to the public.

As a result of Thinking With Portal's shutdown, many exclusive assets, tutorials, and downloads which were exclusive to the site have permanently been lost. However, as we had the download for the assets which the template is based upon on hand, we've uploaded them for the public once again!

Was never planned, and I don't mod for Portal 2 anymore. Sorry.
It says there's a virus. As a P2 modder myself I kinda doubt this, but is that normal?
Oh, really? I have no clue why, it's not a virus, I assure you. Just out of curiosity, what antivirus are you using? I use Avast, and I had no issues.
It was actually Google chrome! Btw how do you get into the matchmaking.dll? I kinda need in. Just let me know if you know
Unfortunately, decompiling the dll isn't really too viable, as Portal 2 isn't open source. Due to this, the template was forced to use vscripts to make everything work. My advice is to either use vscripts like we did or to pay the Source engine license fee to get the Portal 2 source code (which is ridiculously expensive).
what VScripts did you use? I can't find them!
BASICALLY the idea is to integrate this into another mod. Can you help please? :D
Everything should be located in scripts/chicken_scripts. Hope that helped! :)
I am really interested in the mod but when I try to load the game I get and error "Can't find background image materials/console/startup_loading.vtf"

I'll check my installation and get back to you on it, but I don't think it's an error with the mod. Try verifying your copy of Portal 2 and then restarting the mod. If you still get the error, then it's an error on my part, and I'll release a patch.
