After having a week off it’s nice to be back and posting our weekly news updates. Even though we didn’t post a news update last week we still had a lot going on internally. Within the next week or two we should have a few things to show that we have been working on for the community. The team has partnered with a certain hardware company that will provide prizes for contests that we host and the possibility of clan sponsorships for highly competitive Battlefield:2 clans. Once we have the details finalized we will post it in our weekly updates. Another good thing to pass on is that our famous sound engineer “W00k1e” has started to show his face again and is looking forward to working on POE:2 sounds. We’ve noticed a few of our fans have been worried that he wouldn’t be returning to the team since they hadn’t seen any posts from him lately. Real life obligations have kept him busy which happens to all of us from time to time.
We’ll begin this weeks renders with another community suggestion. This week “KCT” developed both the model and skin of the Russian made 9x39 mm AS "Val" silenced rifle. Only thing different between this and the Russian made VSS Sniper rifle is the design of the pistol grip, butt stock, and the lack of scope. Expect to see the AS “Val” as one of the Ukraine’s Special Force weapons out on the battlefield.
Another Russian made weapon that you’ll have the choice to carry will be the Toz-194 12Gauge Pump Shotgun developed by “AgentX”. We thought this would be a nice addition for some close quarter combat for the Ukraine team. We advise staying far away from your opponent to prevent getting shot with a bunch of lead!
Next up is the German GTK Boxer Armored Personnel Carrier. In our first initial release the Boxer will be mounted with the MG-3 7.62mm machine gun for troop protection. The skins shown in the render below are in preparation for it to be used in any type of terrain and climate. Model & skin combo developed by “Nello”.
This week’s in-game screenshots consist of the RPG-7V with the assortment of grenade types. This was originally modeled by “AgentX”, skinned by “Spitfire”, and coded/animated by “Seigman”. These will be carried by the Anti-tank soldier on the Ukraine team (model/skin of player model is not represented in these screenshots).
More images of the different grenades for the RPG-7V are located in our gallery.
That’s it for this week and now it’s time for us to get back to work!
