The Story
Piddly’s Chance is a 3D platformer with a bizarre, highly-interactive twist. Players will take on the role of Piddly, a clumsy ant-like coffee boy at a production studio in a videogame world. Our bumbling hero starts out making a mess of the game sets, and has to set things right or lose his job. During his adventure he will have to utilize his weapons creatively, solve puzzles, and manage his career in the gaming biz.
The World
Piddly’s Chance takes place in Gama Land, where games are reality. It’s every character’s dream to be in the next Hit Game, adored by fellow characters and possibly even ascending to Shelf Heaven for a brief time.
Piddly himself works in a game production company called Gametronics Studios. Although little more than an errand boy, he’s more than happy working around the game sets (making games is more like making movies in Gama Land) and admiring the star characters.
Unfortunately, the Boss makes a terrible mistake. He entrusts Piddly with getting the right cast members to the right stages. Big mistake. Soon, fat plumbers and sheep demons are running rampant throughout the Gametronics sets, and it’s up to Piddly to set things right.
Since he’ll be romping through the Gametronics sets, he’ll of course have access to the props and costumes littered about. And since it’s a videogame world, many of these things may be familiar… though not TOO familiar.
Gama Land bears a likeness to the monster’s world in Monsters Inc. - that is, a world that is parallel to ours but distorted in almost every way. Video game characters, human and otherwise, roam freely, their greatest dreams being to star in the next hit game and make it to Shelf Heaven.
