A mod for Quake, based upon Arcane Dimensions. In Peril you play as Robyn, the Daughter of one of the Ranger's who were first sent in through the Slip-gates.

Description

Updated version of Peril with many more bug fixes and added content. After hearing lots of feedback and watching through some livestream playtests it was clear some important elements needed to be fixed within the game, such as clearer pathfinding. Some maps have been re-textured to match the detail level encountered later in the campaign, and some tutorial/hint elements added to areas that were a little confusing.

I play the second part of the game after Shubniggurths Lair, it's way better, no bugs and looks way nicer. But I still think that this should be Peril part 2 :) Games shines in the futuristic settings. You should consider to do one game in the Cyberpunk setting, it's fantastic. Industrial complex in medieval are also great.
Anyway can you add a Flashlight? It would be great.

I finished the Peril. The game is huge. There are 36 large and some very very large levels, the Far Cry ones. It took me about 60 hours.

The art side of the level is great. Some levels are confusing. After playing all 36 levels, I think the ending is not good. The radio turns on, the song from the beginning starts playing, it stops in the middle and the game ends without any animation, text to wrap up the story or anything like that.
During the game there are many Bosses but at the end there is none and it's kind of anticlimactic.
At least some text would be nice like in original Quake, something like:
After defeating the other world, Robyn returns to her own to find that her world is also in ruins. She goes to the radio, plays her favorite songs and sits down tired of everything.

Thanks for the mod. My suggestion is that You split it in two games and make a trailer to get more attention. You deserve way more attention for the work that You done. Ho wlong did it take You to get the whole mod done?

It would be three years this november.
Too many hours.
I had a back injury plus some vehicle problems,so had a bit of time to commit.
The challenge was living offgrid,I have no mains electricity at home,so its cost a lot of money in terms of fuel cost to make. I can only dream of mains power and internet.

Hello,
My game not start and I do not know how this fix. Other games via quakespasm works nice. I have this error after start game

Hunk_Alloc: failed on 70482528 bytes
I try add commands how you have in read me, old , new quakespasm but nothing help

Use the Ironwail sourceport. I noticed that it doesn't run with quakespasm too but it does with Ironwail.

Ironwail also runs better with higher framerates.

You need to allocate more memory to run large maps.
If you check the readme it explains how to set up a shortcut that fixes this. Alternatively try Ironwail which should just run it without having to allocate more memory.

I will release all map files,just need some time to sort out all the textures into something usable,and organised. My wad files are a bit chaotic.

Thanks man I'm so glad that this part got released. I loved the first released and have played it multiple times. Thank you so much for your hard work, this is one of the best Quake mods I've ever played! I'll give more feedback when I'm done playing!
