The Perfect Dark mod is a UT modification based on Perfect Dark (N64). The basic premise is to combine the style and power of UT with the massive content of Perfect Dark, while at the same time improving upon PD's blatant errors (i.e., slow, cumbersome movement) and maybe adding (optional) new features. While the PD weapons will be, for the most part, true to the originals, some allowances must be made. For example, UT has no built in "Action" button (for opening doors, reloading, etc.) so this functionality must be built in using similar effects. The maps are true to the original, as much as can be, but cannot be perfect renditions. Some scaling issues have been uncovered in certain maps, as well as some questions of physical feasability. All in all, the maps are accurate representations of what once was... Movement speeds and accelerations are not quite addressed yet. Any Perfect Dark fan can tell you that you moved faster when strafing instead of just walking forward....

Greetings.
Another summer season (for me!) is once again drawing near. Unfortunately, I will not have the luxury of time this holiday, as I am getting a job. So, I felt it would be best to address several issues while I had the time:

1) Mod Staff -- I haven't heard from 3 of 6 mod team members for a month or more. It's safe to say that they won't be coming back. Unfortunately, Chromius (the coder) is one of them, so once again the mod is without a coder.

2) Mod Site -- Time, time, time. I remember back in the day when I updated this once a day....sad, things change. I assure you, just because things haven't been updated on the outside, they are happening, albeit slowly, on the inside.

3) Mod....Period -- Again, back in the day, there was tons of time to work. Now, not so much....
Because so many people have been in and out of development, I have had to learn and forget and manage and learn...it's all very difficult to keep straight. Add school, home....plus about a million other side projects I wish I had time for.

Quite a mess, indeed. But....through it all....I WILL NEVER GIVE UP. This modification shall continue for as long as I have Unreal Tournament...
