The Perfect Dark mod is a UT modification based on Perfect Dark (N64). The basic premise is to combine the style and power of UT with the massive content of Perfect Dark, while at the same time improving upon PD's blatant errors (i.e., slow, cumbersome movement) and maybe adding (optional) new features. While the PD weapons will be, for the most part, true to the originals, some allowances must be made. For example, UT has no built in "Action" button (for opening doors, reloading, etc.) so this functionality must be built in using similar effects. The maps are true to the original, as much as can be, but cannot be perfect renditions. Some scaling issues have been uncovered in certain maps, as well as some questions of physical feasability. All in all, the maps are accurate representations of what once was... Movement speeds and accelerations are not quite addressed yet. Any Perfect Dark fan can tell you that you moved faster when strafing instead of just walking forward....

Greetings.

So...roughly 9 hours later, and I've already decided a few things:
1) Mod Team is in open formation, according to Bond Designs Team Projects with a few changes:
a) I'm not willing to accept scripting help yet.
b) Contrary to my previous (like, 9 months ago) thoughts, I will allow new or re-made multiplayer maps (with some exceptions, as well). I don't quite have the time for mapping like I used to...
c) Please, tell your friends! I would love to work with as many people as possible.

2) I'll basically start ground-up on all the gametypes, given the new knowledge I gained recently in the area.

3) Don't know when I'll get back to weapons, but I know I'll start with some heavy-hitters, like the Cyclone. And, concurrently, I'll get the current weapons a bit more functional and graphically....pleasing. (Just figured out about multiple skins two weeks ago. Convenient, huh?)

4) Recently picked up a pretty good saying while working with my own Bond Designs: I can't promise a set release schedule.

So....the hammer falls. I'll be working when I can, sleeping when I can't, and trying to squeeze in school and my real job when I can...

Stay cool.
