Long ago, when the word 'Hiigara' rang only as a hollow dream, the kiith of Kharak never imagined they would walk the Path to Victory. But, when they reclaimed their Homeworld and proclaimed themselves 'Hiigaran', they believed they had reached their goal. How wrong they were. 150 years after Hiigaran landfall, conflict rages across the Galaxy... Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.

Second part of Captain Morgan adventures. Meeting with his crew he get's attacked again, hover this time with a little different ending...

Posted by on

Following the chaotic flight from Phobes, Captain Morgan has set course for the Galinuns Eclipse where his Outlaw and all his crew have been waiting for him to return.

Naturally Sinister Jim and his band of raiders insisted on coming along which presents Morgan with a new issue: He has only a single frigate and a corvette but has been unanimously voted into position of commander of this new crew. So what should he do with all his new ships?! Even space hardened pirates can only sit in a dark cockpit for so long before boredom takes over...

However there wasn't much time to debate the issue for within minutes of arriving at the rendevouz a Lord Class attack carrier appeared, guns blazing. Morgan could only assume this ship was associated with the ion frigate which had broken up his last engagement with Ara's interceptors and put them on the retreat in the first place. But you never knew...

The situation did give the old captain an idea though: Hell, if someone brought a carrier to him, why not take it for his own? He was a pirate after all and stealing stuff was sort of his job. Why not take this piece of scrap metal too? It would be the perfect place to store all his fighters and corvettes! The only issue would be getting close to the carrier. But for a seasoned pirate like Morgan this was no issue... feign retreat, dodging enenmy fire like a coward - then - when the carrier moved in to pursue, slide around below it and launch boarding teams.

Sinister Jim of course wouldn't be denied his fun and decided to join in.

As ever, capturing a ship was a chaotic affair. The comm lines were filled with people swearing about pretty much everything from some poor sucker's grandmother to the fact their socks stank and they wanted a change of clothes. While Morgan was used to this kind of mindless rambing it did make determining the status of his men a little difficult. After all, you never knew if 'tha awld fugga's head's gue, mawn!' was referring to the boarding team's leader or some other guy they'd run across somewhere in the hangar bay.

But for once things went well and after a few minutes of frantic fighting he heard Sinister Jim announcing he'd taken the bridge and would eat any bastard who dared touch his new flagship. How he figured this was now his ship Morgan didn't know nor care. At least they had the carrier now... and cleaning up what remained of the original crew was a simple matter. Most of them just surrendered anyway and joined with him. Typical pirate. You learned that first, after all. When the shit hits the fan, screw whoever hired you and join forces with the biggest guns around - which seemed to be him at the moment...

After a few more comm exchanges Morgan finally managed to get Sinister Jim to ready the carrier's docking bays and ordered everyone still flying around and wasting ammunition on debris or thin vaccuum to dock with the carrier. It took a while but eventually his orders were followed.

And lo and behold, he was one ship and about 40 men stronger though he still didn't know who was after him or why. As could have been expected one of his men had decided it was a good idea to blow the captain's head off at first sight. Why bother capture him alive? That might give them valuable information and you couldn't have that, could you? Really... sometimes Morgan did wonder why he put up with the idiots around him. But what choice did he have? And it seemed to be working fine... for now.

This was frontpaged... congrats on getting enough attention for ModDB to do that.

Interesting way to show new ships for the first time, by the way. A little corny, but also more interesting than throwing up some images and descriptions.

Honestly the rainders are so corny ingame that this is the best way to present them. You just can't take them entirely seriously - and this kind of presentation really just fit.

exactly

it's so much fun to just watch those raiders doing bull on the battlefield. you can really play for hours and it never get's boring... XD

most of the ideas for those updates are infact based on ingame events.
