The game takes place in the eve of the Seven Hour War. Fighting against blood shedding synths and frightening aliens, Adrian Shephard has to struggle his way with his fellow comrades from the Phoenix Command, with the main objective of stopping the construction of a Combine Citadel. In his journey he will find what has happened to the world, moments before the Seven Hour War.

I love those Combine, they look very synth-inspired and like early versions of the soldiers, which judging by the time this mod takes place in, they obviously are. Awesome work!

Oooooor, more plausible, since HL2 takes part about 20 years after their occupation..
Their design got optimized by Doctor Breen, maybe by request from the "Benefactors" to make the Human Allies (or slaves) more useful.
I think the sounds of the HL2 combine doesnt really fit your combine soldiers, it just seems a little too mechanical for them.
