The game takes place in the eve of the Seven Hour War. Fighting against blood shedding synths and frightening aliens, Adrian Shephard has to struggle his way with his fellow comrades from the Phoenix Command, with the main objective of stopping the construction of a Combine Citadel. In his journey he will find what has happened to the world, moments before the Seven Hour War.
quick in game shot of the soldier. tell us what you think.
GONNA REMOVE IN 1 HOUR
btw we had to think a bit to please some of our fans. some dudes said that the soldiers didn't have a "focus" point (somewhere you'd look and instantly see where to shoot). we fixed that by adding these gunship camo patterns on its helmet + chest. they stand out from the rest of the body while still looking good. so thanks for the dudes who pointed that out!
Looks cool, glossy and mostly textured. But yellow eyes?
they're orange now, first thing we noticed that looked wrong.
I like, but it shouldn't have eyes besides the 3 dots on either side (think striders). With them, it looks too much like the bloodsuckers from STALKER. I liked the look of the head when it was untextured, you should keep it simplistic o:
really? karma him up if you think there should only be one helmet.
Now that is a fearsome soldier, would not want to face it lol
how can it wield human weaponry with no opposable fingers to pull triggers?
ignore that human gun, as said, it was just a quick shot of the soldier.
I love it.
Awesome! But as said - eyes look weird. But still good
Looks like it could fit perfectly into the HL universe IE a very dam good job.
My main issue is why is it armed with the human HK SMG2 ? Would a combine pulse weapon make more sense? Maybe a Pulse smg type of compact weapon that uses the AR2 30 shot ammo cartridges and is manually reloaded.
The energy plug cartridges is what im referring to as seen at the bottom of this image.

Basically the cartridges would be loaded via the top with a bolt so to speak open and the firing pin similar to the AR2 would be visible on the inside. when reloading the old cartridge would be shot out in a similar manner to how the old WW2 M1 Grad reloads.
Ive started working on some concept art of it to better illustrate my idea. But yea if you guys are interested ill share my work and see what you think.
haha as said above, ignore that human gun, it was just a quick shot of the soldier.
yea i started to write this before anyone else commented so my bad :P But yea the offer still stands I have alot of concept art for both light and heavy infantry type of pulse weapons. If you guys are interested ill share them with you.
nah don't worry, we already got something in mind!
Make the color tone colder, it seems too warm to be combine made in comparison to what the other combine tech we've seen.
EDIT - gunship, i see where you guys are going with this
sounds good!
Why do you keep removing screen shots exactly? I guess it can stop people getting confused with outdated versions of things but only really REALLY silly people could get confused about that.
it's simply to keep the page clean. imagine how much wips we'd have if we didn't remove them after receiving criticism. the phoenix soldier alone would have 4 pictures, and this one would have 4 too. it's just so when newcomers visit the page and look at the pictures, they don't have to go through a bunch of unorganized wips. get media straight and easy.
