The game takes place in the eve of the Seven Hour War. Fighting against blood shedding synths and frightening aliens, Adrian Shephard has to struggle his way with his fellow comrades from the Phoenix Command, with the main objective of stopping the construction of a Combine Citadel. In his journey he will find what has happened to the world, moments before the Seven Hour War.

Congrats to ZombineVelancious for naming it "Synth Assault Carbine" and Skyu for naming it Swordfish! They'll be referred as both names in game, while "Swordfish" will be more of a nickname the marines put on it.

There need to be more guns in the world that are modeled after various fish, if you ask me.
The shaping in the rear looks very much similar to the portal gun.

**** that ****, I'm tapping out, there's enough automatic weapons in HL2 as it is.
we have like a whole arsenal of custom, creative weapons and you're complaining that we added one combine counterpart to the human smg.
OpFor2's got the vortex gun, the C.L.R, a sniper rifle, the warper cannon (a gun that works like the strider's beam), the ERCS (a gun that shoots flechette-like projectile), the AR1 which is a m249 on steroids and has a cool altfire, and the list goes on...
oh... how lame.
