This mod fixes just about everything wrong with the game, and it's not even on version 1.0 yet! Generic bland characters got characterization, weapons got rebalanced, armor makes sense, magic makes sense, classes act like they aught to, and level differences don't automatically make someone invincible. Skills got redone so that You will actually want to use new skills, the old, dull stat bonuses are gone, and best of all, attacking from the back or flanks will actually be necessary in terms of hitting a lot of the time. Everyone just feels like they're competent now. Traps became very useful, the AI behaves smarter (It follows the same logic, but due to the rebalance, has more practical options available), crafting is far simpler, as it always should have been, and many frustrations, such as skills training slower than molasses, have been corrected. You can look at units and see what they're about now, just like the original TO and FFT, there aren't weird math calculations to figure out. You see heavy armor, he's bulky, You see a vest and small shield, they're evasive, You see a cleric, and there's a good chance they can actually fight back now. That's another thing, staves do damage now, clerics have become monks, and most units don't have healing, there's a reason to keep clerics around. Not only that, but their healing scales now, making them easily 2-3x more effective than before. Remember the awkward transition between wizards and warlocks, wondering what the hell happened there? Fixed. The warlock works like KoL now, wizards are the missile unit, warlocks are the aoe and vertical damage/light melee unit. Remember using dragoons as weird dragon snipers? They've got magic and are more focused on melee now. Remember wondering why the Terror Knights made their armor out of tissue paper and were dumb as a rock? They can actually hold their own in the front lines, and thanks to the new damage formulas, can provide pretty effective support. Remember looking at knights and thinking "Hey, but what about those knights and their mounted spear combat in the intro?" ...well, say hello to the joys of one-handed spears, which knights also get. Remember looking at soldiers dressed as pikemen and thinking "Yeah, I'll make You a front pine pikeman and....wait, what?"....well, they can use both versions of spears now. Remember those nonsensical tile-skipping spears? Cool idea, but they all work the same now. Remember ninjas being basically culture porn with weird magic powers? Yeah, no, they're a scout/anti-mage, as they should have been (most ninjas were spies, not master assassins). Remember the awesome descriptions for those 3 resistance members in the Neutral route? They got awesome new looks and features to match their awesome stories. Why are You still reading this, the download link is right over there! Get this mod!

Well, this mod balances nearly everything, lots of buffing and nerfing for example Swordmasters but can only use 2H katana "dude what?" but he made Swordmasters into true master that can wield any kind of sowrds ANY KIND!!!. In the original version you might only use unique character only like vyce ozma ravness and so on, but here you might think that generic characters especially lizard, orcs and other than human is a good addition and most of all BEASTS AND DRAGONS are soooo much more useful here, cheers for him!!

PS: Dude who create this mod is a cool guy who listen to our opinions and consider it for his next version, someone should buy him a beer!!!

Played this game 3 years ago and felt like it was an awesome game with a a very deep and dark plot, great music and visuals but with subpar balance (Weapons: being only bow, dagger and the "others", classes: being archer, ninja, shaman and the "others", (Remember being excited over dark priest Catiua just to find out that it sucks?) Spells: Everyone was Light, Dark or an elemental summoner, no in-betweens, finishing moves: except the Canopus one, everything being so underwhelming, using empowered shot was more efficient. This mod fixes all that, plus some extra effort to make it even more fun. I'm so happy with the amount of effort given to make this game what it should have been. Thank you so much.

tl;dr: Original game story, visuals and music was perfect. Balanced was meh. This mod gives the game justice it deserved.

Great mod that balances classes, equipment, spells, abilities, and encounters. Breathes new life into this game and really elevates it. Also, as of now, at least, it's being continually updated.

This mod basically makes the game top tier with all its changes. The rebalancing is just amazing.

I am usually a bit cautious about balancing mods but you have somehow managed to balance the mechanics better than the developers did. The change to the revive stone is excellent btw, very well thought out. I just sell them all though because I like that high-risk combat.

A beautiful work of art. It's what the Tactics Ogre series should have been, and what Reborn should have strived for.

A wide rebalance that removes much of the tedium that came with the overmanaging of the original.

Classes now behave as they should with their expected, logical ups and down, rather than everyone becoming a sort of jack-of-all-trades but master of all by overloading on learnable skills.

With less avenues for abuse by savvy players, difficulty is more even, and the overall experience is far more satisfying. I have put the original LUCT aside for years now because I couldn't stand the grind, now it is time to delve again.
