Edit: The colored trails ARE actually possible... What if the ionized ammo turns red after de-ionization? And the Ions assimilate each other into each other, causing them to equal out, making them no longer Ions, hence the red trail. :D
If you think materials can't assimilate... go look at tiberium :3
