Aim of the Olbrück Project is to create a medieval themed Minecraft RPG centered around castle Olbrück in the south-west of Germany. It takes place in the 13th Century and tries to recreate the regions of the Brohl- and Vinxt Valley. Our map covers an area of 6.5 x 6.5 km of this region which we transferred to a Minecraft Map Size of approximately 1100 x 1100 blocks. This map includes 7 villages, 8 farms, 1 city, 1 castle and a small monastery. But there are many more interesting places for the player to discover. We intend to fill this detailed world with NPC's and Quests, currently based on CustomNPC's, to bring a medieval world back to life and tell a story of adventure, war and mystery. This Project is still in work but we want to give you first impressions. Feel free to comment and share your opinion and ask questions.

Post news Report RSS Dev Blog #2 Improvements and Problems on the way

Still refining the world map with many new locations, but also with improvements to existing structures, such as our farmsteads.🔧🏘️ We are currently looking for people that could help us with some Problems we encountered.

Hello everyone,

It's been a while since our last update blog released, but we are still working and improving our map.
We have added many new locations like campsites, quarries and much more.
Furthermore there was plenty to refine regarding the structures of our farmsteads.
For example we added things such as wood processing areas, gardens, outhouses and chicken coops which complete the impression of functionality of a medieval farmstead.

Exterior improvements

Still there is a lot of work to do. Besides tasks we can easily do ourselves, that only take time we also encountered problems we couldn't solve yet.
Some of those problems concern fundamental features we planned to include in our project.
The implementation of own, not „Minecraft-like“ NPC Models, as well as a RPG and faction system, UI, maybe music and some other technical issues.
All those tasks are too much work for only two people, that are currently working on the project.
If you want to support the project, please don't hesitate to contact us!
