1964 is a mod which covers the timespan of an alternate-history era of 1964 to 2012. Following the disastrous events of World War II (which ended in Allied defeat in 1953), the world has split into three factions. The Axis Alliance, a Fascist alliance that spans from Iceland to South Africa, from the Atlantic to Moscow, is the most technologically advanced of the three, but one of the most devastated by war. South America is in the Pro-Axis camp, having initially been their allies until the Venezuela Conflict of 1957. The Soviet Union, a behemoth state comprising of Siberia, India, and China. Initially all subjects of occupation after the Soviet attack on the Allies in the 1950s, they have grown in unity and cooperation. The Chicago Pact, the third of the sects, is a coalition of the remaining democracies of the free world. The USA, Canada, Mexico, and Australia. Currently, they are engaged in a war with the Soviet Union, only recently defeating the Red Army in Australia.

Sorry, but what you write there is pretty much crap, don't assume the Nazis would have place ANYTHING of their military in Russia and then give it control over it... It's just wish-thinking...

That was a rather harsh statement, likely coming from someone who doesn't know the background story of the mod. First, Germany is not Nazi, they are under a technocratic leadership. Secondly, the Germans placed military resources in Russia because the Soviet Union, which sits just on the other side of the Urals, is still very aggressive and would love a chance to retake their lost territory. It would be stupid to not place troops there! Thirdly, the military placed in Russia is still Germany, with a small Russian force backing the Russian state itself up.

And why isn't it still Nazi Germany, I mean it's WW2 after all?

As for your question:
In order to keep things simple in regards to Paradox Interactive rules (and to remove the questions that might arise about Jewish people and Co.), I had the Nazis killed off after the war in a Valkyrie-esque event. However, the German player will have to contend with a political problem with a Nazi political movement, just under a reformed name (though this problem will come in post-beta, as it has not been coded yet)
