This mod has been in development since 2007. Some major features are: Corpses of the fallen will now permanently stay, population caps have been increased, and new units. Each faction receives one hero unit, you can play with and against any faction, and there are Heroes, crazy stuff (like The Maus, Powell, zombies,...). It also contains an Infantry Only mode, Early war mode, No Pop-Cap mode, and Quick Start mode in the victory conditions. This mod is only for fun! If you are looking for complete realism, try another one. Some combiners with other mods like Star Wars Frontlines - The Galactic Civil War & Eastern Front are also available.
NHCmod v2.602b will introduce a new mode called "Infantry Only". In this mode can only build infantry or light vehicles. All heavy vehicles have been disable and the build time of infantry is reduced.
Sounds like this could be a lot of fun. I actually think though, tank divisions should be a call-in to go along with this mode. I know the whole purpose is all-out infantry warfare, but this sounds kinda realistic to me I guess.
After long discussions we have decided to delete all call-in of heavy armour for balancing purpose. Every one would have played Armoured Company/ Blitzkrieg/Royal Engineer/Tank Destroyer just to get this advantage. The only call-in still available are for artillery pieces and small vehicles like the Greyhound and Stuart.
Wouldn't anti-vehicle teams and artillery counter the tank doctrines though? That would I guess make the tanks sorta useful without being overpowered.
I understand you guys already made up your mind; it's just a curious question though.
That's just the point. We wanted that any vehicle to be stoppable by only a few AT gun or AT troopers. Like in the original CoH, you will have to drive very carefully to get all the benefit from light vehicles.
