Hello,
I've a strange issue: all my soldiers can't approach from my plane, more than an invisible limit, as you can see in this pic.
(In my 3dsmax model, I've define rectangles (with user params "Obstacles"), and i've also define 2 "emit" spheres (emit1 & emit2, with user param Group=crew)
Any idea why i have this problem?

I think you must link the volumes to certain parts of the airplane, so the volume is under that category of the plane.

example:Wings_vol--->Wings--->Basis

I have this problem aswell with bunkers. It's to do with the 'volumes'. You should ask someone from the World in War team or WW1 mod, they can probably be of more help. All I know is that the volumes automatically reshape themselves into a square, drawing an invisible perimeter around the object along all it's straight and perpendicular angles. Press Alt+V and Alt+B to see the volumes and what is blocking your units.

Hello Sturm,

Thanks a lot for this precious comment!
(I didn't know theses commands in Gem)
I've just checked in game with combinations of Alt+B and Alt+v:
My volumes appeared near those of the original stuka, but when I pressed Alt+Q, i see the obstacles zones and it's clear there is something wrong in my model (a big rotated square zone, exactly where my soldiers stopped in the pic)..
So you save my day (and my time) and it's a good start to find the solution: even i've created some different "obstacles" rectangles in max, i must have something else in my model which produce this strange big zone.. (maybe it's linked to a message error when I export, about some volumes that are not convex)

Thank a lot Sturm.
Regards,
Bass

Hi Bass,

Why don't you check my ca-101 model? With those obstacles it works fine. The emit must be outside of obstacles zone.
The best!

Check the object properties of the volumes from zlatarog's model to see what is different in his volumes.

Hello Zlatorog.

Thanks again for your max model of ca101 thatis a gold mine for me!

You have to know that everything i've done in this new Ju87G-2 plane was in the exact comparison of your model:
I've opened 2 windows with 3DSmax at the same time, and check everything ,to not forgot anything.

I've done exactly the same user object properties (objects, volumes, dummies, animation), a very good hierarchy tree and the same rectangles zones as you, but the fact is the result is this strange big square zone that appear and seems to recover the obstacle area i've done myself.. I don't know yet the exact reason.. :(

@Sturm:
Maybe I forgot something, I will check again tonight because, i'm at home..

Thanks all for your answers.
Cheers,
Bass

Hi Bass,
Check the hierachy, check the obstacles' object properties-backface cull yes, Is the obstacles made from simple "plane" object? (not from box) And if you want to resize a volume simple box or plane object (not poly)never do it with the uniform scale tool. And if the volume is made from poly always check it with reactor/utilities/convexity test tool. That's all. :) Tell me if you find the problem. oh and what about with .def file or crew.ext file?

Hello!

After some tests and check the files, i've found that the error wasn't directly the fact of my 3d model (wich was near than Zlatorog's one, especially for emit and obstacles zones definition): I discovered that my export operation created in the mdl file some code blocks called "AREA" instead of "obstacle" for all the "rectangle" fields (maybe it's linked to a wrong option in my 3DSmax, or this issue came from my 3DSmax version?).

When I rename them in the mdl file, it's ok and that bad square zone had disapeared and now my crew can board in my plane!

Thanks again Zlatorog and Sturm for your help, and now, I can continue my work ;)
