This is a total conversion of Sins of a Solar Empire. five new playble races will be introduced each with differing play styles and apearances. The focus of this mod will be small and large scale fleet stratagy and empire building.

Description

Often fielded in a support role to either frigates or cruisers this ship is a versatile vessel. Armed with a number of heavy forward batteries and additional close range weapons the Wolverine can summon a withering rain of weapons fire which few frigates can withstand for long. In combination with this thick cruiser class armor allows it to withstand an large amount of fire. This may make the ship seem like the ultimate space fighting vessels however the design has it limitations. The main one being it is extremely difficult to maneuver. Weighing at several times the mass of a normal warthog but still utilizing similar maneuvering engines the ship will have a great deal of difficulty engaging anything not in front of it. This lack of maneuverability also means that it will be unable to avoid most incoming fire and without the armor the ship would be shredded in seconds. For this reason many empires have stopped using destroyers in combat, however the UCI has continued to make use pf these vessels and has upgraded them with thicker more expensive armor and fitted them with the UCI's special honeycomb ship design (more on this at bottom). these changes have allowed the Wolverine to become an effective ship once more.

UCI honeycomb ship structure refers to the method in which the UCI increase crew and ship survivability despite lacking effective shields. This is accomplished by spending extra resources on creating addition armored hulls inside the ship effectively creating a layered design. Most ships tend to be broken up into 3 layers with each layer being fully seal-able. The least critical systems are found on the outer most layers and more critical systems are found near the center.
