Vlk drze nakouknul do košíku, přistrčil čenich k bábovce, ušklíbl se a už přemýšlel, jak by si pochutnal na Karkulce, protože vlci mají raději maso než bábovky. Jenže pak mu došlo, že by si mohl pochutnat na Karkulce i na babičce. A hned pravil:
„A kdepak bydlí tvoje babička?“
„Přece v chaloupce u lesa, ty to nevíš?“ řekla zvesela Karkulka.
