Multi Theft Auto (MTA) is an open-source software project that adds full on-line gaming support to Rockstar North's Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas PC game, in which this functionality is not originally found. It is the first open-source modification that adds a highly customizable network play element to a commercial closed-source single-player PC game. Developed as an experimental piece of software for earlier Grand Theft Auto series, Multi Theft Auto has become an advanced multiplayer platform for gamers and developers. Our software provides on-line gaming for dozens of players running user-generated gameplay content and scripts through a Lua virtual machine, and is freely distributed under the GPLv3 license.
MTA SA 1.1.1 has a function to create the SWAT rope from single player just like how it worked when SWAT drop from a helicopter but with the added flexibility of being able to use it in any place like going down the side of a building.
this is why MTA is much better than SAMP
Damn straight.MTA has much more features over SA-MP but, however there are a lot of more fun servers on SA-mp so,I'll leave this part for the people.
that and MTA is so much smaller in terms of players. On the 1.2 article they say 'Our highest unique player count peak is now 6.400 concurrent player' yet SA-MP has 27,000+ on right now. D: Shouldn't have taken so bloody long to release the current version of MTA, then SA-MP might've not become as entrenched as it is.
"27,000+ on right now"
I heard SAMP like to count their BOTS as players.
I'd rather play on MTA where I do so much more than play on an inferior mod that has more players. If you like busy MTA has a few busy servers.
The CIT server even managed to get 506 players online, that beat SAMP.
