Greetings community!
It has finally come to the point where we can show you what we have been working on the past year. Some of you may already have seen it, but for those who haven’t, please take some
moments to read the announcement here:

Watch the announcement trailer here:
So what does this mean? Well, first of all - Mount&Musket: Battalion doesn’t exist anymore. It is now Mount&Blade Warband: Napoleonic Wars - a multiplayer-only DLC that you can buy for Mount & Blade: Warband. We hope you will find it even more enjoyable than the mod ever was.
The base is still there - the idea of large multiplayer battles, trying to realistically show the Napoleonic Wars while still maintaining enjoyable and rewarding gameplay. But it is now wrapped in a new shiny and professional package. We re-made it completely from scratch: bigger, better and more. Graphics have been vastly improved with new beautiful units and environments - while focusing on performance means it will run just as good as, and hopefully even better than, before.
But graphics and performance work is not all that is new. Napoleonic Wars brings an array of new, often-requested, features. Thanks to our co-operation with Taleworlds we have been able to bring you all those things you always wanted to have.
Here’s just a small selection of the most important new features that the DLC offers:
- Completely remade France, Britain and Prussia + added the new Austrian Empire.
- New units that you always wanted such as Voltigeurs and Cuirassiers for France, Light Dragoons for Britain, Death’s Head Hussars for Prussia and much much more.
- A selection of over 220 unique units.
- Sapper/engineering units for all factions, capable of building fortifications and blowing them or other buildings up using their explosives.
- Several new types of artillery and ammunition types, including shells, canister and even rockets.
- Flags, trees, plants and water moving with the wind and new background sounds bring the world to life.
- Parallax mapping for walls, rocks and other objects for even greater atmosphere/graphics.
- Musicians can now walk whilst playing, and even play the same tune together.
- A large amount of new musician tunes, specific for each nation.
- New high-quality voice acting for all factions, both for male and female characters.
- Introducing the Siege game mode + a new Commander Battle mode where the players lead bots in a line battle against each other.
- Crouching with a bayonet now allows you to brace it to kill an incoming horse.
- Musicians, Ensigns and Officers give bonuses to nearby rankers.
And much much more...
We have also worked on making the game even more balanced. Many of you might be happy to know that lancers are now less powerful. For example, lances can no longer be used to block. This does not mean that they can’t be just as deadly, but it takes a bit more skill.
We would like to thank you all for the time you have spent on MM - it means a lot to us. Without you, this would not have been possible. Thank you for your dedication and suggestions - even though we haven’t always listened ( ;) ) we still love you!
Finally we’d like to apologize. It was never our intention to keep you waiting this long, in silence, but as you may now realize it was out of our control. We’re very sorry about that.
We will keep you all up to date with news and previews for the upcoming DLC and you are free to ask any questions below and we will try to answer them as good as we possibly can.

This is cool. Did you guys make any upgrades to the actual muskets in game? Like reducing the spread.
Yes, accuracy is tweaked slightly to make it more balanced overall.
awesome!
three questions: will it be available on steam?
and when can we expect it to be released?
and what about ship battles? would be nice to see some first rates firing at each other!
thanks!
1.) yes
2.) sometime in spring, not decided yet.
3.) we do not have ships atm, however we have longbaots.
I'm glad to see that you're behind this. For a moment I thought it was a ripoff of your great mod. :-)
Any idea of the price-point?
propably around 10$
though, not decided yet.
Not much of an expansion to be honest. I personally do not see the value in buying a multiplayer only expansion for 10$. If it was singleplayer aswell than it would be worth it.
Also the mod L'Aigle looks to be at a higher quality, to even the new Mount and Blade Napoleonic Wars expansion. Why would I buy a Expansion pack which is Multiplayer exclusive? When I can just download a free and prettier singpleplayer mod which one day might advance and create a Multiplayer experience aswell?
Well, bots are in the multiplayer portion of the game too. And I believe there's even a gamemode that has you commanding bots; I think ten bucks is more than fair for this great expansion.
Wrong there is a COD like single player mode that has 18 missions it is nothing like the single player from warband but it is there just disabled.
Great, so I can play multiplay offline. Yes that really adds value to this so called Expansion. So when everyone stops playing, I can play by my self with bots, how nice.
Its still a mod, its just a mod which is asking me to pay lots for preaty much nothing.
Then don't buy it. But you'll be missing out on some awesome line battles. Thats what makes this game so unqiue, recreating battles fought in such an unusual way with other players is just so much fun! It's an experience you can't get anywhere else ( save BG2 ).
You obviously failed to read my first point. There is a Mount and Blade mod based on the Napoleonic wars called 'L'Aigle'. That has Linebattles. So that makes your statement more or less irrelevant.
Which is single player and not released, yeah, nice.
I'm a patient man. My point is L'Aigle has not even been released and it looks better than Mount and Musket ever did. L'Aigle has not started too long ago and it looks even better than this 'Expansion'. I have played Mount and Musket online in Public and Clan linebattles, most of the time it was laggy. I think I could deal with a nice smooth preaty singleplayer game. I'm sure eventually he will consider online.
I would also like to point out that L'Aigle has regular updates, whilst that of Mount and Musket have been very far and few between.
Another point is that this 'expansion'is charging a rather unfair price for what is very little content.
If I gifted NW too you on steam will you play it ?
Ofcourse. That would be a free game. I just believe it is not worth paying $10 for it.
Could you guys see about including this song: Youtube.com
It would be awesome :)
Sincerely,
Syre Lancaster
The release date is 19th of April!!

is there any chance of a single player update? with a map and rpg element? i was quite disappointed because there was no indication on steam this would be focused on multilayer, the ai's no good on the battles and Ive not been able to find any good on line matches, thought I'd get more for the cash when there are so many free mods
i agree with jesusfreak 10$ is fare for such a awesome expansion pack
cool geam
When will it release on desura?
man it seems the last comment was posted nearly 4 years ago...
