This mutator for Unreal Tournament 3 allows players to play in third-person.

Description

This mutator turns UT3 into a third-person shooter. It also allows the sniper zoom to work as intended (first-person view). Third-person view is forced.

OK, got it to work, noticed that the scripts folder wasn't inside the CookedPC subfolder, moving it there fixed it. Nice mod, only problem is that aiming is a little off, shots go below the crosshair just a tad.

Sorry you had some trouble. I will fix the folder issue. The aiming is all Epic code, though as I learn I may try to fix that as well. Right now I am struggling with getting the camera distance to work in a network environment. The newest version I am working also has a fix for Feign death (which breaks the mutator at the moment).

When I wrote a 3rd person crosshair in UT2004, I used a particle emitter that could move more dynamically around the player, as the default behind view crosshair was a bit awkward. Would you like to see the 2k4 code for it? It's not entirely portable, but it might be useful.

This should be standard IMO

That would be awesome. Any help learning the ins/outs of unrealscript would be appreciated. I am not new to programming, but some of the concepts presented are taking some time to wrap my mind around.

You're welcome. I'll dig it out for you tonight when I'm back from work. It's part of a larger mess of UnrealScript playing, but the cross hair sections are more than obvious =]
