GLOBAL CONFEDERATION Mini juggernaut
concept by Bydolm@ster
What do You think about this unit?
Will You need it in the game or not!
it works as ts gdi juggernaut but with one cannon
As a lower tier artillery cannons it would be helpfull, but some counter weight on the back would be nice :-)
I actually proposed a lower tech artillery walker some time ago and got rejected, but nice to see my idea used eventually, keep it up.
as in tw3 edition .it uses stabilizer at
the back of its legs
have the actual cannon fold backwards and lay on the vehicles back and have it wield some kind of anti-infantry weapon. kinda like the wolverine but with a light artillery addition on the backside.
nice concept
armored core a bit
Looks like one of those mechas from animes and mangas.
As i said on msn ... the hands make absolutly no sense. Either give it a hand mounted weapon or scrap the hands. Right now it looks like a literaly ****-head urangutan. The concept (skills) is really good, but the ideea is really bad imo.
Correct, it was designed to look like an ape.
No no no no no no no.
Too much Gundam/Macros esque, ditch out those arms and hands, lower its profile and then you got a more western like mech.
Even the Mechawarrior mechs wouldn't fit too well on C&C, the walking gun we see in the titans that is basically a turret with legs is good enough.
Unlike other people, who are of course entirely entitled to their own opinion, I quite like the arms, but question their functionality. Would they be used in close combat, to stabilize the gun or as mounts for lower calibur weaponry?
The function of the arms is why I don't like them. Even in Macross, the artillery mechs didn't have hands. Small arms type weapons would be better suited on a turret, relying on hands would actually dampen their combat effectiveness. The first version of the Avatar had a good reason for having hands, and they weren't the gundam kind, because they serve a function. There's a reason construction cranes aren't shaped like human hands, that design is less efficient for anything of that scale. This isn't going to be going around engaging in infantry combat with 50 foot tall people, so there's no real edge to giving this support mech humanoid hands.
I think it should crouch and use the hands to help it stabalize when its firing.
Correct! That is part of the idea (although I assumed a "kneeling" posture), but I thought twice about the hands after making the design as well.
looks great, but i agree with many of the people above, either scrap the hands or give them an awsome changun that could be held, and possibly even have it change weapons (in hand) depending on what unit is in it, i mean hands should be able to change weapons otherwise it would be better to just mount a gun on it instead of having hands to hold one. I deffinintly want to see this in the mod but it would look awsome with or without the hands anyway, and besides this is your mod, do what you want. especialy if this is working like a ts juggernaut it would deffinitly benefit by geting another weapon.
P.S. just wondering which of the original factions make up the Global Confederation, the Theodorites(sorry if spelled wrong), and the Rebels?
Hey Leute! Character designer here
I reviewed the comments and you asked "Why the design?"
Well, design was originally meant for GLA side to put them at balance with the sci-fi weapons. The design is basically a simplified (blocky and thicker) and modified Avatar of the Nod side with its head replaced with a cannon like some [Tieren] variation. The arms and hands? They're for grasping and maybe fighting, but also for balance when it is imagined to kneel or crouch to be ready for shooting. Ok, I gave it hands instead of guns in place of hands because doing so will be an overkill I think, since it's for GLA originally.
I shall consider the comments to modify the design if you want.
Giving it hands is nothing more than a japanese theme in a game universe that doesn't need any japanese stuff in it. A mech that kneels to shoot it's head cannon makes less sense than a plane that lands to fire. A deploy system with some recoil dampeners would make alot more sense and would also improve the design. And GLA with mechs ... i for one hate WW2 only GLA but this is way to extreme.
Mini Titan
ok guys i'll redesign it
Good idea, but, quite unusual design...
nice concept but what next?! Nano predator tank? ^_^
i still like it :D
It is a well done concept, but I dislike the content. It reminds me of something out of an anime, and I have always hated Japanese style mechs. Though, as least this doesn't have useless spikes everywhere.
If it has hands, they need to be holding something (such as the cannon).
What are you looking for from such a unit? Do you intend it to be a artillery version of the wolverine? I think a mortar wolverine would be great and useful, but I don't think the concept art fits the bill of anything.
if u didn't notice ,it is redesigned
