Middle-earth Extended Edition is a project with the goal of expanding the game with new units, heroes, spells and factions as well as adding unused features existing in the game and bringing more realism to its combat system.

Next faction to receive an update are the Elves. Several of their heroes had some of their abilities reworked. The usefulness of several units was increased and combo battalions and alternate formations were made. Changes have been made in the Spellbook and various balance changes were made as well.

General Changes


  • Elven Gifts spell now works properly for both Rohan and Elves.
  • Fire Arrows upgrade now only increases Attack vs. Cavalry, Monsters and Structures.



Heroes


  • Legolas - the prince of the Mirkwood Realm. He starts off at rank 1 and is recruited at the cost of 3000 resources. He has received a new ability, while an existing one was altered:
    • Rank 2: Knife Fighter - Legolas temporarily switches to fighting with his knifes, gaining 25% Armor and 10% Speed.
    • Rank 3: Prince of Mirkwood - Nearby infantry gain +15% Attack.
  • Haldir - the marchwarden of Lothlorien. He starts off at rank 3 and is recruited at the cost of 1200 resources. He has received a new ability and an existing one has been updated:
    • Rank 6: Herio an Lórien - Haldir and nearby melee infantry gain +35% Attack and +15% Speed for 20 seconds.
    • Rank 7: Reinforcements - Permanently summons 2 battalions of Galadhrim Scouts.
  • Sam - a member of Fellowship of Ring and a close friend of Frodo Baggins. He starts off at rank 1 and is recruited at the cost of 200 resources. His Frying pan ability has been moved to rank 3 and he has received a new ability as well:
    • Rank 5: Lembas Bread - Increases the Armor of a friendly unit by 30% and doubles it's auto-healing for 20 seconds.
  • Elrond's Vilya ability now deals 500 damage instead of 400. He also uses his BFME2 sound-set now.

Spellbook


  • Tiers 2-3: The Elven Wood and The Woodland Realm spells have switched places.
  • Tier 3: The Dwarves of Erebor spell no longer summons King Dain. The Rohan Allies spell has been replaced with:
    • Mists of Lothlorien - Summons a dense fog at the target location, greatly reducing the Speed and Attack and Vision ranges of enemy units within it for 30 seconds.
  • Tier 5: The Army of the Dead spell has been replaced with:
    • Lady of the Golden Wood - Summons Galadriel, the powerful elven queen for 150 seconds.

Structures


  • All elven buildings now have build-up animations.
  • Lothlorien Library has been given a new model, icon, selection portrait and selection sound.
  • Elven Citadel has been given a new model.
  • Elven Barracks has been given a new model.
  • The size and amount of trees in elven camps and castles has been reduced.

Units


  • Dwarven Guardians now now use their BFME2 models and sound-sets. Their pathing diameter has been reduced to that of a normal infantry unit and their health is now 250 instead of 300. They were given a new icon and selection portrait and have received a new ability:
    • Rank 1: Guardians of Erebor - Increases the Armor of nearby friendly Structures by 15%.
  • Rohan Porter has been replaced with the Elven Porter.
  • Nearly all elven units now require less experience for ranks 2-8.
  • Rivendell Swordmasters, Galadhrim Scouts, Rivendell Lancers and Lindon Horse Archers now have alternate formations.
  • Rivendell Swordmasters and Galadhrim Scouts can now form a combo battalion.
  • Mirkwood Guardians and Galadhrim Scouts can now form a combo battalion.
  • Two Mirkwood Ranger battalions can now form a combo battalion.
  • Two Galadhrim Warrior battalions can now form a combo battalion.
  • Galadhrim Warriors' health has been increased to 250.
  • Galadhrim Scouts now have regular archer armor.
  • Mirkwood Rangers now deal 50% more damage to Monsters when using their bows and +50% more damage to Heroes when using their swords. They are no longer strong vs. Cavalry and are now weak vs. Archers instead of Swordmen.
  • Rivendell Lancers and Lindon Horse Archers now use their BFME2 sound-sets.

me gustó tu trabajo en esta versión, pero te sugiero que cambies la habilidad de legolas "knife fighter" ya que en los libros nunca utiliza sus cuchillos ni mata a ningun mumakil, esto lo digo para darle mas realismo a los heroes y es un consejo, no una queja, es el mejor mod de el señor de los anillos

Legolas usó sus cuchillos en las trilogías "Hobbit" y LotR. También mató a un mumakil durante la batalla de Pelennor Fields.

en las películas si, pero nunca en los libros, si lo que deseas es un acercamiento mas real para los fans mas meticulosos entonces podrías quitarlo, sin embargo si deseas ser fiel a la jugabilidad y las películas, entonces es correcto

aun así si deseas dejar los cuchillos, entonces agrega un solo cuchillo blanco que es como lo describen en los libros, por favor no creas que te quiero corregir ni nada, estoy muy fascinado con tu mod, solo te doy un consejo que puedes tomar o ignorar,no importa mucho porque no afecta al juego en gran medida

Guardaré los cuchillos, ya que me parece muy lógico que un arquero, sin importar lo hábil que sea, traería consigo uno o dos cuchillos para poder defenderse en un combate cuerpo a cuerpo. Aparte de eso, estoy tratando de combinar las películas y los libros en mi mod, de ahí las adiciones de varios personajes de las películas de Hobbit, sin los cuales la facción de Gundabad no podría existir. Gracias por tus comentarios.

por cierto, porque no cambias su habilidad del mumakil, por una contra las bestias aladas de los nazgul,pues la mayor proeza de legolas fue matar una bestia alada (en los libros pues en las películas no aparece)

Esa es una buena idea, pero darle a un héroe antiaéreo ya fuerte la capacidad de dañar seriamente o matar a un héroe tardío del juego no es bueno para el equilibrio.
