VOTING IS OVER. THE CHAPTERS THAT WON ARE THE IMPERIAL FISTS AND SALAMANDERS.
We haven't yet decided what chapter of Space Marines to use for the Mod so we need YOU to vote for a Space Marine Chapter to use. Put a chapter name in the comments and which ever chapter name receives the most +1 Karma's will be used. NO DOWN VOTING!!! If you don't see a Space Marine chapter you like then just add it into the comments. No UltraMarines because they're overused. Blood Angels can be used in the vote. You can vote on other one's too. Have Fun and let the best chapter win.
Keep in mind only chapters that would be suitable for this situation can be added in (Planet/Area/Threat Level)
Only real Chapters may be used
-No Angry Marines
-No Rainbow Marines
-NO Brony Marines
also try not to choose a chapter that does a lot of melee(like the Black Templars and Space Wolves) MoW doesn't do melee combat very well.

Blood Angels, Pre Heresy Thousand Sons, Pre Heresy Space Wolves. I'm begging you do not use Ultramarines, they are basically overused in everything t_t
How about some Dark Angels or Salamanders? Both have some great lore behind them. Salamanders always protecting even the smallest of people and such.
I think Dark Angels are the coolest choice, always fighting to restore the honour of their chapter....oooh the black stain of the heresy...
Dark Angels!
black templar's, though you'd probably need to focus on melee with them
Hey,how about Pre Heresy Luna Wolves(Black Legion)?
that wouldn't really work since this happens way after the Horus heresy :P
more like present day 40K, so no pre-heresy chapters
Pre heresy units can be used. In the Space Marine Army if you're a valued hero or have shown enough Badass motherfuckery then you can wear any form of Pre Heresy armour as a way of showing it off.
well yeah, but i meant more as in no pre-heresy chapters as a whole. so no luna wolfs. pre-heresy armor can of course be used by those vets that have survived for that long.
If you think about the logic in that, Luna wolves are Space Marines and Black Legion is Chaos. Black Legion running around with armor from when they were Space Marines would be kind of weird.
Mabye the Raven guard? :)
Coolminiornot.com
Who else? The Blood magpies :P
gray knights but it would be the same as bufallooman said you'd have to focus on melee
Nova Marines!
Black Templars!!!!
Blood Ravens!
Always been an Imperial Fist guy myself
Salamanders, for their flamers and meltas;
Imperial Fists, for being the masters of siege;
Blood Ravens; "This Monolith? A gift to our chapter from Szarekh the Silent King."
Blood Angels have some great melee units while still holding fairly true to a balanced army. also Baal Predator and Furioso Dreadnaught. although they Favor Melta, lascannon and Plasma a little much when not going melee, heavy weapons are not exactly a bad thing to have around either. :P
also, i kinda agree with my sangine brother up there... ultra-smerfs need to go die in a corner of the warp for all the screen time they get.
Problem is that the MoW engine isn't exactly good for melee, that's why we should limit our chapter choices to those that prefer ranged combat.
Else I would have added Black Templars to my list as well.
Imperial Fist
Dark Angels
Anything exept ultramarines... would prefer iron hands
Novamarines or Space Wolves
a little late to the party i see , but yes, though this might suck for some of you please try to refrain from choosing chapters that are heavily Melee orientated. like Luthorian said a few comments back, MoW engine doesn't do Melee very well(quite terrible actually) so chapters like blood angels and black Templar immediately fall out of the questions.. sorry for this but thats just how it goes.
though my vote wont have any part in actually choosing which chapter we'll use. personally i'd go with either Salamanders, Imperial Fists or Crimson fists, hands down my fav chapters.
or even UltraMarines ;P
I'd have to say Dark Angels or Black Templars, but having the Legion of the Damned as a special unit would be interesting.
Blood angels.
ultramarines and space wolves
imperial fists.
White Scars ! ;)
blood ravens.
Raptors chapter, why? they are one of the most ranged oriented chapters out there. Specialty: Jungle Warfare, Hit-and-Run-Tactics, Infiltration, Ambush and Sabotage.
more info about them:
Wh40k.lexicanum.com
raven guard
imperial fists
black Templars
blood angels
Dark Angels FTW!
Imperial fist!
Or just the Ultra marines ;D
First choice sadly doesn't count due to melee problems (Angry Marines because no other chapter comes close and they are real)
second choice is the Blood Ravens since I've bashed through every single Dawn of War game as them so they've kinda grown on me
Angry Marines are not a real chapter.
Angry Marines are one of the many other made up chapters for ***** and giggles
They are just as real as any other chapter and better made than any other chapter.

No they're just Homebrew marines and it would be pretty stupid if they were a real chapter.
If they're not a chapter of the Codex Astartes then they're not a real Space Marine Chapter
I've had that page saved to my favorites for months, it's a great read. Also in an entirely fictional world does it really matter what book they're in? They're the greatest marines ever invented.
Yes it does because we want the campaign to feel like one rather than a 40K version of a 9GAG page. And Angry Marines are Melee based and MOW's Melee system is terrible
I know the melee is terrible which is why I suggested Blood Raves since I've played every Dawn of War game as them so I might as well keep going with them. Also all Angry Marines do for 40K is make it more fun which is the whole goal of any game. They're my favorite chapter and just as real as any other chapter.
What he's trying to say is that they want to use a non-homebrew chapter, but one that's actually an accepted chapter by the Black Library or Games Workshop.
Angry Marines are neither of those. Aside from that, he says in the reading (if you actually paid attention to the writing), it says no Angry Marines.
Cat if you read my first post "First choice sadly doesn't count due to melee problems"
As for why they'd stick to those chapters, I have no idea. If only Angry Marines were ranged then they could be included.
And to have a home brew chapter for the main campaign would be stupid because the campaign would feel like a joke. We don't wan't every ones name to have "**** **** *** ****" in it and we don't want the Dialogue and voice acting to also be "**** **** *** barf" and they can't melee anyway because of the horrible melee system.
Enough about the melee, I adressed that in my first post. Also if you don't want the campaign to feel like a joke you just disqualified the ultramarines.
We were disqualifying the Ultra Marines in the first place.
Honeslty, I'd like to play as the Tau and / or IG as they're both very "rangey". But since this is about Space Marines, I'd want to try something different, Grey Knights would have been good but as everyone said the MoW engine isn't good at melee. Maybe the Space Wolves? I've always been interested in them, just not too sure if they're "rangey" enough. Actually, Salamanders would be refreshing too.
