all the lights and stuff at the back aren't like the actual model is but just imagine it's a different pattern or something.

Looks great, although the metallic sections could do with a bit more detailing or weathering methinks. You're getting really good though. :)

Just out of interest... how well will this thing do against infantry?

On a scale of 1 - omnipotent vaporising laser beam of imminent fiery annihilation?

Line up a few soft targets and it'll pierce through with no problem. It'd be a waste of ammo though since the lascannon is an antitank weapon so using it on targets below power armor isn't advised between the low ammo capacity and slow rate of fire.

You want to destroy infantry, you go for the high rate of fire of the Heavy Bolter or the jack of all trades autocannon.

I hope it just ends in violent explosion deaths, doesn't make sense, but so doesn't 40k hehe.

Between bolt, plasma and melta weapons on foot alone, you have more than enough sources of delicious gibbing.

Description

We are still looking for people to help with Texturing and uvmapping, let us know if you're interested!

The Lascannon is a formidable laser weapon, capable of piercing most vehicle armour and killing powerful and heavily armoured troops. However, the fact that it has a slow recharge and expends its power in a single blast against a single target makes the weapon a poor anti-personnel weapon. The primary difference between a Lasgun and a Lascannon is the size. While the Lasgun is easily handled by a Guardsman, the Lascannon requires special housing. Due to their enhanced bodies however, Space Marines may carry them integrated into their Power Armour. Each Lascannon charge pack is good for only one shot. This means it has a slow rate of fire due to the need to change the pack after each shot, and the packs cannot be recharged like those of a Lasgun. The power of the Lascannon means that the barrel is damaged quickly but can easily be changed, much like the Lasgun. They are very reliable as the technology has been perfected rather than scrounged from STCs. As such, they are the preferred weapon type by many Imperial Commanders as, even though other weapons may have other advantages, the reliability of the weapon is most important on the battlefield. Lascannons, due to their high strength and reliability, are often mounted on tanks. Here they are often twin-linked to improve their accuracy. Many tanks can have sponson or hull-mounted Lascannons to provide them with a secondary weapon to their primary turret in case it is damaged. Lascannons are a common sight amongst the Imperial Guard, but less so in the ranks of the Space Marines, who rely more on melta-type weapons.
