Hi Sturm.
I hope I haven't left this too late. These are just a few ideas I had about your mod. No worries if you don't get a chance to implement them but it would be great if you could. Here's the list:

  • Anti-tank mines to be carried by handles on the mines by one arm and then held by two
    arms when laying the mine.
  • Anti-tank and anti-personal mines should be collected from boxes. It seems unreal
    for soldiers to have loads of mines in their back packs,they would
    weigh too much.
  • Mines should be
    laid by soldiers going back and forth to boxes with mines in them.
    With two soldiers carrying box as they go along the route that is
    being mined
  • Medics can patch
    up wounded and also revive unconscious troops.
  • New dragging
    wounded animation. The dragging heavy weapons i.e. Russian machine
    gun animation would be good for this. Imagine the opening scene from
    Saving Private Ryan on the beach as Tom Hanks is dragging his buddy.
    That's the animation I'm thinking of here.
  • Soldiers can take
    out a tank by lobbing in a grenade down the hatch if the hatch has
    been found open,i.e. After the commander has been killed. Soldier
    would need to use a climbing animation to do this,maybe some from
    when tank crews climb into there tanks might work.
  • Soldiers can dig
    fox holes using animation from Moscow is behind us from MOW Soviet
    campaign. Soldiers must have spades for this in their back
    backs/inventory.
  • Wounded and dying
    animations,maybe using the sleeping animations from Behind enemy
    lines from the MOW Soviet campaign?
  • Soldiers can move
    about for 5mins until he dies unless a medic gets to him first and
    saves his life.
  • Soldiers don't
    disappear when hit by H.E. Unless very close to huge amount of T.N.T
    or H.E.
  • Soldiers don't
    disappear when crushed by a tank but do have a squashed look
    afterwards.
  • Rifle grenades
    with detachable grenade using Panzerfaust entity and animation but
    changing the size of the explosive charge to resemble a grenade.
    Don't know if this can be done but it would look fantastic in game.
  • Wounded tank
    crew/vehicle crew could be dragged out of vehicles using a new
    animation of some sorts but I think of where to find it.
  • No instantaneous
    sand bag erections for any heavy weapon or troops,they seem fantasy
    like.
  • Paradrop should
    have a full plane load of troops not just one or two men, it just
    doesn't seem right.
  • Animation for
    jumping out of a half track. Animation for jumping over fences could
    be used here. This could also work for troops jumping over the side
    of a landing craft.
  • Half track doors
    open when soldiers get back into vehicle via those doors.
  • Soldiers lying
    prone have right leg straight if firing weapon with right hand and
    vise versa (usual way recruits are taught to fire a weapon) but
    still leave the original animation so that there are two types.
  • Some more
    animations when throwing grenades and molotovs, possibly underarm if
    enemy is close by or when trying to toss under a vehicle.
  • Foliage on helmets
    but with netting too.
  • New melee attack
    for more realistic hand to hand.
  • Dogs and cavalry?
  • Tank crew don't
    get blown out of tank when it explodes and then get up...alive.
    Better if they stay in tank or get blown out in a rather chewed up
    state.
  • New running/
    walking animations similar to Stalingrad for the future mod.
  • Soldiers able to
    dig fox holes to allow tank to go over them with out dying and maybe
    attach an explosive of some sort.
  • Sticky bomb or
    magnetic mine animation so soldier can attach explosive to tank
    instead of only being able to throw anti- tank grenade.
  • Bayonet charge and
    fix bayonet animation.
  • Wounded soldiers
    hold arms or legs or where ever they've been shot like COH and can't
    use these wounded areas, so a soldier shot in the legs has to crawl
    or stay put.If soldier shot in the torso then he would need a medic
    to keep him alive.
  • Stretchers can be
    used to carry wounded away.
  • Soldiers don't fly
    through the air when shot by small arms but spinning around and just
    dropping look ok. Keeping the running momentum and then falling
    which the game currently uses still looks good and should be kept.
  • Jump gear for
    airborne troops and life jackets,gas mask bags, etc for beach landing troops being omitable, maybe
    going into the soldier's inventory.
  • Suicidal Russian
    conscripts with explosives packs that charge tanks and detonate on
    impact.
  • No more health
    bars .Plus less amounts of bullets to kill soldier.
  • Wireless /Radio
    operator to have head phones. Maybe the tank crew ones could be
    used.
  • Morters to have
    more killing power, at the moment there about as deadly as an old
    lady shooing away a cat. Morter rounds like incendiary would be cool
    too.
  • Woolly commando
    hat for British troops would be great for commando raids.
  • Better grenade
    burst damage.
  • Zeltbahns and
    grenades in Panzer Grenadiers boots.



It's a bit of a list

Excellent suggestions Screaming Budgie, as soon as I have finished my texture maps for my models I will try and implement as many of your suggestions as possible.

- Reminder for self, change Mg tripod movement to one crew member instead of 2, increase speed and try and change walking animation to running.

Thanks for that Sturm, really appreciate it. I think it would be great to have both animations for the MG Tripod (one crew member and two crew members) also walking would be a good animation too, like a patrol option so you could have three speeds for soldiers , walking, running at a moderate pace and sprinting. There could be two types of animations here, one with back more or less upright whilst walking, running and sprinting, (for maximum speed when sprinting) and another animation with body bent over like the usual way you see soldiers running in WW2 to avoid being hit. Also you could have them walking a bit bent over but only slightly, like they are anticipating walking into danger at any moment, which would be good for a patrol on the move, not troops walking about in a safe area. Another thing which I've come across a few times now is that German troops used to run with their weapon in one hand (don't know if this is true) but maybe this could be taken into consideration with animations but only for running, walking on patrol would need soldiers to have both hands on the weapon at all times.

SCreamingbudgie - to keep things simple, I have implemented a fare few of your suggestions however, I hope you understand the majority of your suggestions I cannot implement as some are simply 'hardcoded' or too much effort to implement for little gameplay / visual benefit. I hope you understand.

What would you do if your animation with Machine Gun Man can carry a machine gun on his shoulder? And new around the corner Shooter animation'd be ready when normally it is too slow, because when you shoot and you do not hit so you do not have time to dodge when the enemy has time to shoot. And the soldier could explode when a shell strikes it. And even that is not bad if you'd drive a tank a bag of sand off it will not go away. And when the soldier next to hit the grenade when it is in the country, so it does not fly so foolishly kuinnormaalissa mow. :) I got more if you want to hear.

1. Will the totaler kreig mod included battlefield ambience?
2. Will the mod include weather conditions, like Ice, Snow, Heat Haze , Dust?

I just saw a lot of the best wehrmacht footage and noticed how Weather and Ambience makes the game extremely realistic.

If thats what you mean you can add them in the editor quite easily so it really depends on the map and what heer wants to do.
But I am going to assume that is namely up to the mapper.

Could easily be proven wrong at anypoint though.

Yes battlefield Ambience. WW2 Fronts were massive, their were echos heard from hundreds of miles away. Here is some good ambience.

Yes, ontop of which, added in-game ambient sounds such as wind, rain, birds chirping, reduce the total number of small arms and explosions sounds available to be played. So if you have 5 ambient sound files on the map, continuously playing, that 5 less possible explosion sounds you can have playing simultaneously.

Hence why I have reduced the ambient sound files pre-placed on the battlefield.

You mentioned that you can add sound files while making a map. Does that mean that the Totaler Kreig mod will have the option of map editor?
When you say reverb sounds will sound different at different echoes away? Ex. A MG42 sounding different at say a mile away versus 100 yards away?

Can the sounds of the Birds, rain and wind just be taken out all together? The reason I ask is I don't think your going to hear birds when a full scale skirmish/battle is going on.

Yes I was wondering if Airplanes would play a better part in the battles. Ex. Dogfights/bombing and straffing runs? And if its possible for airplanes to be allowed to fly higher and at faster speeds?

I'd love to see ragdolls when soldiers dies, but I think this is a very hard part to implement isn't it?

In my opinion with ragdolls this game would reach the top, so is it possible?
