The STG-44 is the world's first assault rifle, since it functioned like one and not like the Fedorov, also the AK family is literally a direct copy of the STG-44, except modified to be less complex and more reliable.
were in the hell did you get such inaccurate information?
The Russians only copied the STG-44s outer design the inernal mechanizim was 100% original & nothing like the Germans STG-44.
On top of that the German STG-44 was the 1st mass produced & adopted assault rifle with select fire. The Russian Fedorov Avtomat would have been the 1st mass produced assault rifle due to its intermidite cartrage (it was much smaller than most rifle rounds of the time) & was not mass produced only due to the outbreak of the Russian Civil War in 1917 by which only 200+ guns were made.

The AK is not a direct copy, A direct copy is comparing something like a Chinese Type 56 To a Soviet AKM. the Federov precedes the STG, The STG Gets all the credit because it was mass produced, at least a lot more than the F-A
Sadly yes the Federovs production was cut off due to the Russian Revolution. At best slightly over 200 were produced & were later used by specialty soviet units like the Soviet Naval troops.
Its not inaccurate information, its called Discovery Channel, channel 282 ;)
