Mass Effect Reborn is a mod that aims to recreate the Mass Effect Universe created by BioWare into Homeworld 2. This version is no longer supported, please visit our new page on ModDB for Homeworld: Remastered: Moddb.com
Third version of the Everest class. I tried to create the same model and the same texture as the conceptual arts. I'm proud to present my own texture for it, based on the default texture made by BioWare.
I tried to create the same model and texture as the following picture: Fc08.deviantart.net
I've been studying some conceptual arts on Deviantart and with the ideas of DardoX, this version is at least better than the second one.
PS: ADV Shaders (from our mod) activated.
PS²: Bump Texture forced render (not Ingame bump render, it's better than that)
Looks more realistic is this the final model?
I still have some ideas to enhance the model even if this one is better. I have to work on the texture however because you can notice the bottom part (where canons are) is not really textured.
Add more polygons in the main part of the model, this would be more detailed.
I won't do it because the in-game render won't be affected by such details whereas the normal map (or bump) render. We prefer to use bump effects on our models.
Clearly, this makes the performance more optimal.
Well, that is way more like it! I can't wait to see the model with the actual in-game bump maps enabled here. I'm curious about the ideas you have to enhance the model as you said above, what are they? The flagship for the alliance military should look powerfull and sturdy, and with this, we're one step further to that.
Some modifications with the engine itself and some details for the texture. I plan to add some polygons at the middle as well.
Looks good cant wait till release hehe
You guys need to fix your smoothing groups, not enough sharp edges makes the shadows display improperly.
There is a difference between this forced ALD rendering and in-game. The in-game render is good actually, better than this one. I've got some problems actually with 3DS Max by forcing some shaders to work but it's not important actually because it affects only the 3DS Max render.
Oh okay if its in 3DS Max, then you might want to delete the smoothing groups before render. I sometimes also have this issue.
