After many requests from the fans, and many arguments behind the scenes, we here at DOTR have decided against putting the Berlin Cruiser from mass effect 1 in game. We know many of you love this ship, but we can’t waist our time. It would require making the model, texturing the model, and coding it into the game. We can’t waist our time on such a thing and thus you will never see the Berlin in game. Ever

The CSO on the other hand is definitely a possibility

The CSO is the migrant fleet.
Nothing is wrong with retiring ships from the fleet. Navies do it all the time and in this case the Alliance navy retired the Berlin cruiser. I mean, come on, she is an old ship and outdated. She was good for her time, but there is a new ship in the sector. ;)
Exactly. There is just no reason for the Council to this outdated ship in their fleet when the Geneva just does the job better.
Plus, the Alliance wants to look good to the Council races. Sending worn out old Berlins to fill out the Alliance contribution to the Council fleet is not a good look.
Isn't it already textured, modeled and coded in the screenshot? I can see the Alliance pulling in museum pieces into service under a serious emergency, like a Reaper invasion...

I understand. My head-canon is that the hulls were melted down. Although historically speaking, navies have brought older ships back into service in times of war. The US maintains several reserve fleets, and the Russian navy has old Soviet era ships of which some could theoretically be brought back into service. China's first aircraft carrier is a refurbished and modernised Soviet hull.
