I still find this design really bizarre.
Good job though on the model
Hmm, technically a spiral is a ideal possible shape for a magnetic accelerator to increase the barrel length with only a modest increase in size. And given how the mass effect fields works the biggest problem of keeping the round from coming into contact with the barrel are mitigated....
Could also be a spinning habitation area to produce gravity at a low cost.....

I wish these had shown up in ME3. Hope the bug where Batarian ships charge up to the enemy and don't fire gets fixed before the next release.
