How powerful will it be?
Her only armaments are guardian defense lasers, she is meant to be a buffer. Her abilities and fleet buffs are what make her worth having, not mention her crazy armor and shields.
There's mention of a main gun. It just couldn't be fired in close proximity in the battle for the Citadel.
Which brings up the question will lasers bypass shields like they do in mass effect?
Yes lasers bypass shields, and weapons also use antimattter or "endurance" as us in the r&d department call it. The very way this game is played is being flipped on its head.
Also on the topic of firepower A codex entry states that the average Everest class dreadnought has something like 37 side mounted mass accelerators so if the Destiny acension is believed to have more firepower then the entire asari fleet which has quiet a few dreadnoughts (not like say the turians) you'd have to assume it has at least one very very big gun....
Sometimes those codex entries need translating. At some point i have to say screw it i'll use my god damn imagination.
yes putting 30ish mass accelerators on either side of a dreadnought is just asking for a crash. But its just perspective. Also the codex entry is from a DLC I think.

But if you ask me, it shouldn't be a buffer ship; if I recall, Ashley, or someone from the crew mentions the power of its main gun, when we first meet it.
But this is your mod, if it'll be a buffer, I'll just use a Kilimanjaro Dreadnought instead :D
Indeed it does. I only started texturing last year so it's still very much a journey for me.
We're still in discussions on weapons and battle mechanics. I agree the Destiny should have a main weapon as well.
Since we don't see it fire in-game. (at least not yet) You could make the whole middle a kind of... Beam? ... Take Star Trek for instance the deflector dish can shoot beams, maybe destiny has a giant long range death beam in the middle. This is all speculation and spitballing on my part lol.

Nah, there aren't really laser/beam weapons in ME. Except for the GARDIAN anti-fighter lasers, of course.
But I gotta admit, a big freakin' beam coming from the middle of this oversized hair dryer would look awesome :D

Thats right, I remember quite clearly some of its mass accelerators fire along the horizontal axis towards the Geth fleet.

As for the main weapon,How about turning the upper tower into an into an massive mass accelerator cannon like the halo MAC guns?
That will also explane y the Destiny Ascension was unable to use her main gun in the battle of citadel.
