Based on a mending of both the giant gun seen on Tuchanka, and the Alliance form of turret. Enjoy.
It's not pointy enough thus, not evil enough. Jokes aside, looks pretty powerful Cerberus FTW.
I like the turret itself however the fact that it has no platform or anything gives it a random turret in space feel in my opinion

Need's a platformed to be mounted on. Otherwise, I'd say the recoil would be too much, even in space.
Hope you are going to add a platform onto that.
A platform would look weird especially since Sins of a Solar Empire doesn't support moving turrets. A platform also kinda seems pointless in space, where there really is no real sense of up or down.

Plus, these turrets could for all we know have mass effect cores rendering them almost massless allowing them free motion.

I think perhaps A simple "Command Structure" on top of the guns would be enough. As it is now, it just looks too... Bland?... I don't know if that is the right word, but you get the point. It's a good base, but needs a little modification IMO.
It's a turret ? It does not need to be fancy, it does not need a platform underneath it because in ME the guns (in theory) should have no recoil so they don't need a platform. A guns a gun it's there just to blow stuff up not to stare at in immense detail.
I wonder if you're planning to diversificate the council defensive structures like the fleet (human/turian/asari/...), after cerberus.

The model looks like it's missing stuff. You should at lease give it a control tower and a large ammo drum or something.
You could make the gun appear as if its part of a larger space station.
I love it, it's sleek , high tech and something alittle different and it's exactly as Cerberus should be
When looking at the Tuchanka cannon the space between the top and bottom of the barrel is larger than that in the model (http://images.wikia.com/masseffect/images/b/ba/Firebase_Giant.jpg).
Also wasn't the Tuchanka cannon just an old Krogan gun?
In any case the gun looks great.
