I have already reviewed this mod once, and rated 9.5/10 I think, so I'll try to review only the changes, as much as possible.

First, and the most important aspect are the story changes. I now see how little I could notice details by the sheer amount of readables originally put into this mod. Removing many of them made the mod more easily digestable for me personally, but there is one thing that surely did not change for the better.
And that is the build-up and understandability of villains. The protagonist jumps from conclusion to conclusion with nothing in between, especially in chapter 2. Many of the story about the villains and the Lipnitz brothers was cut instead of being rewritten. Putting some into secret notes could have helped this phenomenon, while still removing the unnecessary connection to other mods in the Bavarian Saga. As already mentioned in M2..
Some of the voice acting was removed, which I think is a good change. You still need to stand for longer periods of time in later chapters, watching characters explain themselves.

That leads to the second point, the secrets themselves. Originally, with this much secrets they should have served a grander purpose. With the secret expansion notes originally, that purpose was tried to be satisfied, even though not in the best way at all. Now there were only resources, from which there were more than enough during progression. I was using the lantern all the time, while lighting some candles, and i still ended up with 27 kerosine and 60 matches. You've done a lot better resource management in your latest mod. The best that could have happened is somehow introduce a secret level if you managed to find these all.

Finally, the visuals. The day and night cycle is a really nice addition, the atmosphere of the entire mod was made for the better, these changes are especially apparent in Chapter 1.
The later chapters had much more variety in level design, while getting a bit more repetitive with puzzles and more keys, but it was still enjoyable. I was hoping to see some more custom monsters, but didn't.

In conclusion, I say some were changed to the better, and some a little bit worse. Some of the shortcomings were kept, some were fixed, some new ones were added. So currently the mod is still worth a solid 9 for me, I'm just unsure the changes in story were properly executed, even though now I think that they were necessary. The extra notes were covering up a pretty simplistic story, and now that those are no longer there, I was sadly able to notice this.
I was disappointed by how the credits rolled, I was really hoping this was behind us in Madhouse 1 remaster :)

If we look at the whole series, I think design-wise, this is still the best part, and has the most variety. But with all the story changes, I think you did the best job at Madhouse 2. Still, I cannot give a full score, especially after playing your last mod which exceeded the quality of these remasters.

I have no words, just incredible... Other then a few bugs and visual glitches it's basically perfect, I could make this review as long as I want to but I'll only say that this is one of the best custom stories, I recommend it alot.

Absolutely great custom story, the only 2 problems for me was that in some maps the doors are opened while theyre supposed to be locked, and some of the voice acting just went straight away.

Sabatu's best mod for sure. Not just re-edited but actually remastered this time.

I liked the beginning in the original, it was slow paced, had a great atmosphere. Even though it could've been considered boring by some people, I didn't mind it. However, I like this new one even more, the atmosphere is a bit darker and the "you're completely safe" feel is gone.

Texts - you know, in the original, I felt like there's no reason to read them because not only the texts were longer than any state constitution or my dishwasher manual but the main character used to summarize them anyway. I mentioned it in my previous review for the original M3. There's no summary now which definitely suits the new atmosphere better and the notes aren't as annoying as before. Some maps now even feel better and more scary because the player doesn't have to read all the time.

When it comes to dialogs, I think the overall reduction a bit too severe, at least when it comes to conversations between the warden and the protagonist.

Level design is top notch. I wouldn't expect any less from Sabatu and the same applies to music and sounds.

Madhouse 3 Remastered should be put on your must-play list regardless of if you played the original or not.

Finished the last madness-demake of madhouse...headless in places...
There is nothing much to say here, all the same problems as in the first two parts....the senseless attempt to offend the former co-author of this modification by rewriting the texts came out very sad for the mod itself.
The mod is still good visually, but the "new" and intentionally embedded texts unfortunately spoil the whole picture and atmosphere of this modification.
This disgrace is completely incomparable with one of the best mods made in 2021, and unfortunately I would not recommend this "remade creation" for passage.
No, of course you can go through it for the sake of a beautiful picture or a creepy atmosphere we love, but what's the point of going through something that is spoiled?I mean that the atmosphere of the modification deteriorates along with the changed texts...
Ruined the texts, the plot, the concept - ruined the overall picture of the mod and the whole atmosphere.

I'm sorry I wrote so much...initially I wanted to be smaller, but alas, it is difficult to remain silent when such a wonderful game is spoiled...

Summing up: I do not recommend playing a corrupted version of this modification, as in the previous parts of this series of demakes. Version with non-distorted texts can be found on mega.com

PS - in no case do I want to offend any of the authors of the modification with this review, since both of them are worthy authors of one of the best trilogies in the history of amnesia mods.
PSS - and if I were one of the authors, I would still delete these black spots and publish normal mods that he created together with his colleague.
