Rapine Entertainment is the worlds largest producer and distributer of illegal underground film. It's catalogue attracts global interest, and includes group beatings, snuff, executions and harakiri among others. In 2007 a new franchise will be released, in which perfectly average citizens are thrown into desperate situations, the outcome of which will determine their right to exist. The title of this new franchise, is Lynch. Lynch is a first person, survival horror mod built for ID software's Doom 3 engine. Inspired greatly by games such as Manhunt, Theif, Condemned: Criminal Origins and films in the vein of Irreversible and Man Bites Dog, the mod throws the player into a desperate situation in which they must fight and/or think to survive. Violence is not the only answer here, nor is it entirely necassary, but you will be frequently forced into asking questions regarding morality, and how it effects the primal instinct for survival. If any mod is going to be based (even partly based) off of manhunt, then DO NOT abandon this mod... Manhunt was the best game have ever played because it was so new and different, and pushed the limits of what could be implemented into games (gore). Please dont take this away from fans like me. We need another manhunt.

Thanks muchoes for the kind words!

The main reasons mods tend to die comes down to lack of organisation, shallow realisation of concept, and an unreal perception of what is possible/doable and the sort of expertise a mod will need. I was conscious of these things from the beginning, which is why I spent a good few months focussing purely on developing the concept, learning and enhancing my skills with the technology, and gaining a strong understanding of the potential of the Doom3 engine, as well as what was realistically possible.

I am extremely happy with the solidity of the concept and narrative style now and as far as technology goes have a pretty clear overview of what's possible and how the different aspects may be achieved. The only thing standing in my way is time and expertise regarding coding and scripting. I'm confident these things can be sorted though, and trust me when I say noone wants this to see the light of day more than me :D

cheers again!
