The L.U.R.K. team wants to provide the best possible experience from Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, we don't plan to skew the scope of this game, because I, like many others, fell in love with the game because of the story, the realistic gameplay, and the atmosphere. I plan to preserve and improve on that concept to the best of my abilities, and our team has vowed to do so as well. Which is why we took it upon ourselves to provide that experience. We want to fulfill a niche that's otherwise unfulfilled in the modding community. We want to bring as many features to Stalker without damaging or changing the original theme of the game. While improving upon that concept with features that were dropped off the development cycle from GSC, such as stealth AI, and a strong foundation for balance, as well as dynamic A-Life, and an unprecedented visual presentation that no other Stalker Overhaul can touch.

IRL KS-23M uses "Barricade" cartridge with 23mm pointed steel bullet to stop cars. Can penetrate cylinder block.
I read it have different ammo types like slugs, tear gas, buckshot etc, id settle for the slugs or the Barricade shell that thing is so nasty it can mess up a cars engine lol.
Yes, you're right: cartridge with slug, two types of cartridges with large shrapnel, three types of 23mm grenades with CS and CN gas, 23mm flashbang grenade, different kinds of nonlethal ammo, plus 36-mm and 82-mm muzzle mortals to shoot gas grenades and hooks.

Sir.... if you can think of another 23mm shotgun, i will buy you a drink. unfortunately i cant. on another note, i hear this shotgun is called the collar bone crusher for obvious reasons, other than the fact the barrel was made out of low quality anti aircraft gun barrel's. no joke
Well, you're well informed, sir. KS-23 and KS-23M shotgun barrels are made of 23mm anti-aircraft machine-gun barrels that show low accuracy on stage of testing in production line. Barrel is thick enough to endure bursts of incendiary 23x152mm rounds so it makes possible usage of high powered shotgun cartridges + use of shrapnel rounds with rifled barrel.
And, well, there is another 23mm shotgun :) It is russian TOZ-123 "Drake-4" 4 gauge civilian smoothbore shotgun. Right now 4 gauge ammo and weapons are not avalable cause everything bigger 20mm is considered as artillery.
