The L.U.R.K. team wants to provide the best possible experience from Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, we don't plan to skew the scope of this game, because I, like many others, fell in love with the game because of the story, the realistic gameplay, and the atmosphere. I plan to preserve and improve on that concept to the best of my abilities, and our team has vowed to do so as well. Which is why we took it upon ourselves to provide that experience. We want to fulfill a niche that's otherwise unfulfilled in the modding community. We want to bring as many features to Stalker without damaging or changing the original theme of the game. While improving upon that concept with features that were dropped off the development cycle from GSC, such as stealth AI, and a strong foundation for balance, as well as dynamic A-Life, and an unprecedented visual presentation that no other Stalker Overhaul can touch.

Hello everyone.

I usually do not try to find the maker of a mod and give them feedback, but this case is different. And
is different because i saw a mod with a lot of potential, but with errors.

I played until the point you escort the ecologist to Yantar. I am not going to play again.

My biggest complaint is about the lighting. Yes, i slided some bars in my settings, and graphics where
looking nice at daytime, if the weather is sunny.

In cloudy weather, every color just fades away, like if there is a thick fog covering everything. This
is not how a cloudy weather looks like. Everything gets a little darker, colors
are those of more "depressing" tones, and in daytime, it would look
like dusk time. But even my black weapon and the gloves became grey!

Same cloudy effects occur
even in underground spaces, like the sewer at Yantar. Inside the ecologist base
there is a very thick smoke all over the plays.

The real tragedy is the
night. I hope this was a bug, but anyway, nights where pitch black. It was like
a crosshair in a turned off monitor. My flashlight was able only to light NPCs,
buildings and props. Ground was pitch black. Sky was also pitch black. No
stars, no Moon, no clouds, not anything. My Night Vision saved the day (or it
is night?).

I played about 14 hours in
three days. Every day quitting the game with a headache and eyestrain.

I also did not like the
ground texture at all. Is like grass on a soccer field or a golf course. It
breaks the whole "Post Apocalyptic" feeling of the game.

By the way, have you seen
the 1979 movie titled "Stalker"? It is bearing a resemblance to the
game.

Also the skies should look
more menacing.

Now about monsters. You
made them have 100% chance of dropping a part. Good! Personally I prefer 60-80%
because animals in the wild often get wounded or break limbs, and it would be a
little hard to avoid shooting a flesh in the eye when you aim for a headshot
and generally, getting a specimen quality part would be a bit difficult, except
parts that normally do not get damaged easy, like boar legs.

But for some reason,
monsters spawn like in vanilla. Way too much dogs and absence of other (cut in
vanilla) mobs like fractures, giants, cats, etc.

NPCs, specially the fellow
stalkers, need better armor and weapons. Also they should be willing to buy
more items, for their protection. In one occasion I had to reload about 20 times in order to save Fox,
who was attack by a group of dogs.

Duty Sentries guarding the
Bar area need better armament. Some G36s and later some TAR-21s would be nice.
Most duty guys had Makarov pistols...

Also Freedom should be
better armed if it is not (I did not visited their base).

Weapons are the reason I uninstalled
O.L mod, in favor of L.U.R.K. Specially the G3. I like the animations, and I like
the aim. Been a shooter myself, I know that guns "float" and keeping
the gun absolutely stable, is impossible unless you put it into a wise. But I expect
a stalker to be a little better shooter and thus been able to hold a gun a
little more steady.

Some sounds are just BAD,
like TOZ-34, Sig 220, Beretta 92 and other guns. They should sound like "boom",
which they do not.

Many guns now have
characteristics that seem a little of. G3 has bad gun handling? Why? M16A1 is not very accurate? Anyway, you
should ask about each weapon in a gun forum. Many persons who actually posses
and/or shoot these weapons will be able and willing to help.

I also liked that the
military NPCs use Russian weaponry. But I did not see anyone using an AN-94 Abakan. Also the Spetznaz stalkers should use
TAR-21s, Ukraine is using this weapon.

Now I understand that you
removed armor from stashes. That is fine by me, but a couple of armors in hard
to get places would be nice. Like the suit in the radiated building in the
train station. The one that was replaced by five scientific med kits.

The trading system is the
best I have seen so far. Some more bandages in the inventories of traders, and
we are all right.

By the way, is there a
repair kit for armor and weapons? If not, it would be nice to be added along
with a bedroll that will allow you to sleep everywhere.

Absence of HUD is nice, it
helps to be immersed into the game's world. Bu the option of a minimap would be
nice. I had to search for another mod to mod the mod to get a minimap.

That is all for now. I hope
that this mod is not dead and you will reply.

Keep modding!
