This portal mod has you playing through the events of portal, But glados is busy with another subject. So, instead you are testing with a core named Eric who seems a bit too enthusiastic to test. (Features: New Chambers, New Testing Elements, New Characters. and Much more!)

what program did you use to edit the cores skin? cool mod!
I extracted it using GCFScape, Turned it into a PNG with VTF edit and then edited it with Paint.net, turned it Back into a VTF and copied the VMT for the core texture, put it into the materials folder and viola, a custom reskin.

Looks cool! I might try to make a Portal 2 themed version someday!
