this reminds me of a sewing tool to pull sewed threads and cut them off, you use the long end to pluck the thread out and the thread would be cut in the sharp gap in between pointed areas.
Why does the handle have wraps around it aswell, it looks kinda silly, and the wrapped bits arent supported by anything, so if i held that in my hand in reality, I would expect that after some time, those wraps would all curl up to the bottom of the handle.
There is a pixelated low detail grey line to simulate the sharpness of the edge of the blade aswell I notice, but that line , like i said..is too pixelated, if you could blur that by at least 2 pixels more, I think it would look alot better and alot sharper.
Please don't take my comments as being a bastard aswell, because I do have some suggestions.
Instead of those wraps, you could either change the main part of the handle (where your hand will wrap around) to a completely wrapped up area with no gaps, like a grip kinda thing.
You could leave the handle as black, because you're hardly going to see handle anyway.
You could engrave a grip into the handle, so if you think of it like a bald tire compared to a tire with a grip, thats what I mean. You could do something like that.
Or simple just change the main grip and make it more fashionable, make it made out of polished wood with a fancy dragon picture on it or something.
There are many things you could do with it to make it better :)
Otherwise, I like the design of it, that thing is mean, it could be used for stabbing in the face for both eyes and some seriously damaging gut work.
Keep working at the mod, I like university projects alot, as they are always unique, so I wish you guys the best! :)

Well the mod i've been working on since the end of 05 for STALKER (it's gonna remain unannounced until it is done) has quite a few exotic weapons, some of which have a similar design to this blade, so I could only imagine this as being some kindof de-gutting tool :p Just like de-threading only a fatter fleshy thing would be getting cut, not a piece of material, thats nasty.
