•This mod uses dgVoodoo2, a graphics wrapper that converts old graphics APIs to Direct3D 11
or Direct3D 12 for use on Windows 7/8/10. Website: Dege.freeweb.hu
☻ INSTALLATION:
1)Download the zip file.
2)Extract the files.
3)Go to the folder called JPHL Special Edition,
inside you will find the JPHL Special Edition icon
(that one is the .exe file). If you want, you can
create a game shortcut on your desktop: Right-click
the executable file (the JPHL Special Edition icon),
and then click Create Shortcut.
You can move that Shortcut on your desktop and it is ready!
4)Right click on that JPHL Special Edition icon and set the
compatibility for Windows 98 / ME, then select
apply and accept.
5)Double Left click on .exe file and you are running the game!
☻ IMPORTANT:
-The mod Will work fine if you go to OPTIONS, then go to AUDIO
DRIVER and select DIRECT SOUND 3D. After that, go to VIDEO
DRIVER and select 3DFX GLIDE. For a better game experience, you
can enable 3D shadows, change the textures and resolution too.
☻ WARNING!
-Do not use the DLCs in this version. This mod uses a different
engine and won't work properly if any DLC is installed.
-Do not edit the stats of the _RES.txt file or the game may crash.
-If you installed nGlide, you will see a watermark in bottom right of the screen.
To remove that watermark, you must either uninstall nGlide or delete
the Glide2x.dll file found in the mod's main directory.

Yeah and you can also make them spawn wherever you want

Probably because your computer cannot run the Modders Edition Engine
really need to polish weapons,some are almost useless:
-SMG handling is awfull this nearly impossible to aim with and its very troublesome for a weapon design to self defense.The weapon could be very strong if the handling allow to aim.
-Rifle i know its a hunting game,but right now with hyperaggro fauna who mob you at the moment you hit the ground the power of weapon is really too low and feel just like a sniper rifle without the scope who require to take time and accuracy to be use properly(What you dont really have with aggressive fauna)
since they are with SMG end game weapons they feel both too expensive for the quality they give you in hand.The bow is accurate and more polyvante than the rifle allow you to fence again predator and make great work team up with shootgun.Uzi is more reliable than SMG due to Aim and have great burst damage.(kill rex and raptor without trouble when i have hard time with SMG)
Whenever I try to run the game it says "can't open resources file _menu.txt" can anyone help?
go into the huntdat folder in the mod folder. then, make sure if there's a file named _MENU.TXT. if there is a _Menu.TXT file open and see if it is like the menu.

ok my final review is that it is pretty good and actually pretty fast paced cause you can beat it in 3 hours {my time} which is obviously pretty fast and the map ambients give way more points by the way, so final review great.
I can't run the game properly. Idk if it is because I am on Win 11, whenever I go into a hunt or Trophies with 3DFX Glide, the resolution always scale back down to 640x480. When I switch to "Software" video driver option, the hunt and Trophies always make the resolution scale back down to 1024x768. I can't get the game to run at 1600x1200 at all. Also the audio have glitches in the main menu, Direct Sound 3D is the only option I can run with, others don't work. I also already set the compatibility to Windows 98 / ME in properties of the app.

I finally got it to work. Boy its a challenging but a very fun game.
Did every single thing right, but it still wont work. I also tried running the game on a previous version of the mod with no luck months ago. It only works with Direct Sound 3D but there are some noticeable visual texture bugs.

the mod is amazing although i am having a problem. it seems that every couple minutes i'll be hunting and the game freezes. goes black, then goes back to the hunting menu. the setting i have are no fog, auto quality. and i have the correct sound and drive stuff just like it said in the readme. how do i fix this
Hi, you will have issues since the mod engine is still a beta version and many players have the same problem. Nevertheless, you could try to download Directx End User run time web installer: Microsoft.com
That installs a bunch of runtime libraries from the legacy DirectX that old games like this mod would need to run fine. After installation , restart the computer and try the mod. I can't promise it will work, but you could try to see what happens.
I'm confused. So do I need to have the Modders Edition installed to play this the right way? I heard that instead of being able to only hunt 9 dinos at a time that you can hunt all 75? How is this done?
You don't need to install anything. Just download the mod and you are ready to hunt 75 dinos!

Go to game options and set resolution 1024 x 768, in audio driver select Direct Sound 3d and for video driver options select 3DFX Glide. Then, exit and start mod again.
Hello! I am just curious about a problem I have been having with multiple carnivores mods including this one. Everything on the menus works fine but when try to start a hunt the renderer just crashes and sends me back to the hunt menu. No Error logs or popups appear when it happens either just a black screen for a few seconds then back to to menu. I have had this happen for multiple other mods but other's (Like Carnivores Cazador for example if that's able to tell you anything) work perfectly fine. I have compatibility mode set to Windows 98/Windows me and am running on 3DFX Glide on 1024x768.
Same in my case, I found out that it's a matter of the graphic card drivers installed on the computer, the problem you describe exists with the latest drivers, the only solution for this issue is to find out what type of graphic card You have in your lap-top or computer and search for older version of the drivers, then download them and install, otherwise we can wait untill update will be released

Right click on .exe file - go to Properties - go to compatibility - choose windows 98/ME - hit "apply", then hit "ok" . Now, start the mod and go to options - select Direct Sound 3d for audio driver and beneath, in video driver, select 3DFX Glide with 1280x1024 resolution - Now, exit the mod and start it again to see if it works for you.

Hey, so I was able to overcome the allocation error, but When I try to hunt, it just blacks out and sends me back to the hunt customization screen, no matter the display resolution. I am currently on a Lenovo Ideapad. I don't know much about the graphic card or processor, just that the device processor is a 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1235U. Anything I can do?
You need to find and install this --> win64_15.45.5174
1. Install the downloaded driver
2. Restart your computer
3. Start the game
4. In the game options select Video Driver: 3DFX Glide and
Resolution: 1280x1024 or 1024x768
5. Hunt
Tried it. Said my computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements.
