JA2 Stracciatella is an unofficial patch for Jagged Alliance 2. But it's more than that: The goal of JA2 Stracciatella is to make Jagged Alliance 2 available on a wide range of platforms, improve its stability, fix bugs and provide a stable platform for mod development. Development of JA2 Stracciatella takes place on GitHub.

There is no JA2 folder being created and the one in steam directory is empty. This mod is obsolete.

I mean the *ini file is empty

On Windows:

  • download the mod Moddb.com
  • extract the archive
  • run a .bat file (e.g. ja2-ENGLISH.bat)
  • a folder "JA2" is created in C:\Users\"USERNAME"\Documents\JA2
  • there will be a file "ja2.ini" in that folder
  • the .ini-file will have this content:

#Tells ja2-stracciatella where the binary datafiles are located
data_dir = C:\Program Files\Jagged Alliance 2

  • change the data-path to the correct one (location of your copy of JA2)
  • run the .bat file in the Stracciatella directory and have fun :)
